I know we have one of these type threads like once a month but anyway, post recent (or not so recent) films you've enjoyed I'll start The Guard - starring Brendan Gleeson and Don Cheadle, funny, clever, and some decent action - 8/10

Best film ever made, lost count how many times i have watched it. Its about a small lad who strives to be big and strong. Wonder why i like it?
You gotta love livin', baby, 'cause dyin' is a pain in the ass.

Without a doubt my favorite film of all time is Peter Jackson's Braindead, I could literally not breath the first time I watched it for laughing! I love some of the low budget black comedy.

Disney coming back to the fore if you like animation: The Princess & the Frog Tangled was also excellent How To Train Your Dragon Plus I recently saw RED, which thoroughly entertained me - Helen Mirren kicked ass.

Peagreen, have you seen Rango? For me it trumps those Disney offerings by a country mile. The animation is head and shoulders better too especially in HD. Rio wasn't bad either.

Rosc0PColtrane Get HD you luddite! Waiting for oLED to make the home market viable - far superior blacks and quality is amazing but at £9k a little pricey. Anyway until HD is transmitted/broadcast in true HD, I don't see the point at present.

Best film of the past 5 yrs for me is 'The Departed.' More recently I enjoyed 'The Next Three Days' with Russel Crow; and 'Taken' with Liam Neeson. TBH most Di Caprio, Crow, and Neeson films are pretty watchable. 'Unstoppable' with Denzel Washington was surprisingly watchable if one likes action flicks. 'The Abandoned' is a good low-budget chiller I watched recently. 'Rec' and 'Rec 2' if you speak Spanish and/or don't mind reading subs. (The English version of 'Rec', 'Quarantine' is decent too IMO.) 'Julia's Eyes' and 'Ils' are both also good recent foreign releases for those with supernatual and horror sensibilities.
