Right well I've been using this site for a couple of weeks now and been debating wether to start a log myself partly because I dunno if any will be interested! I'm 20 years old and signed up for my first bodybuilding comp for July 2012 the Herts & beds first timers comp. I went last year as a few guys from my gym were competing and really enjoyed the whole day/atmosphere deciding its something I would like to be involved in. I've been training for over 2 years now but only really sorted my diet out about 6months ago. Im a naturally skinny guy mainly due to fact for 10 years of my life all I did was play football and box, but fell out of love with both sports at 17 and found bodybuilding! When I started I was tipping the scales on a good day soaking wet at 9 n half stone! But since I've been training I'm now up to 85kg and feeling pretty good about it. There's about 15 lads from the gym competing this year and 5 of them are in the under 21's categorie (including me) 2 of them happen to be my best mates/training partners. The bloke who owns the gym has done a few shows himself winning his categories to, I think he's doing the Brits this year (not sure) he's very supportive and we've been doing posing down the gym every other Saturday. Any way sorry if that's abit long! And hopefully some of you guys are interested and it would be nice for any advice and support. I will post some pictures later today of me tryin to pose. Chest and calves today at half 11 so I'll kick off my routines etc later. I've eaten 4weetabix and 250ml of egg whites so far this morning just about to make 2 200g chicken wraps.

ok no responses yet but i'll give it time haha just finished chest session bit of a weak point but feeling good. flat bb bench: 10 x 80k 8 x 90k 6 x 95k 5 x 100k (been struggling on this lately so was well pleased) incline bb bench: 10 x 70k 8 x 80k 6 x 85 4 x 90k (struggled needed a spot!) decline dumbells: 10 x 27k 8 x 30k 6 x 32k 4 x 35k (probably go heavier on this next week.) machine flys: 12 x 56k 4 sets. Calves: done the 3 minute calves routine i found on here KILLER. used legs press machine: 1st set - 200k 2nd set - 150k 3rd set 100k Had whey protein after now eating 200g chicken and pasta. Took some pictures will be up as soon as i work out how to upload!

your in good nick for your age how tall are you ? I will give you one bit of advice whoever is doing your prep listen to them and them only I done my fisrt show last year and prepped myself but had around 4 different people telling me different things so in the end I just listened to myself. but if you do have some one with exspearience prepping you just listen to them and ignore everyone else. good luck , where is the show being held ?
If you cant run with the big dogs stay on the porch

Cheers mate I'm 5ft 10" Yea the guy who runs the gym is helping me with my prep etc So will listen to him as I have no clue! Last year it was in dunstable theatre and from what I've been told it will be held there again. Today is a rest day and my 'cheat day' so had my roast earlier this afternoon now trying to decide what take away I want!

Didn't have much of an appetite today so was forcing my food down not sure why but had a good session non the less Trained back and traps tonight: Lat pulldown 77kg x 10 91kg x 8 98kg x 6 105kg x 4 One arm machine row 35kg x 10 42kg x 8 49kg x 6 56kg x 4 Seated row cable row (doesn't have weight on the stack) 12down from top plate x 12 - 4 sets D - bar pulldown (lean back 45 degree angle) 56kg x 12 - 4 sets Dumbbell row (slow and controlled squeeze at top) 35kg x 12 - 4 sets Dumbbell shrugs 42kg x 12 52kg x 12 60kg x 12 70kg x 12 Fireman carry (not sure if technical term but its what we call it) 15kg a pole (4 poles) x 12 - 4 sets Good workout today felt strong and lats feeling pumped! Bring on big legs session Tomorow

Ok so leg day today! Leg extension super set with leg press 77kg x 12/200kg x 10 77kg x 12/250kg x 8 77kg x 12/300kg x 6 77kg x 12/320kg x 4 Hack squat superset with sissy squat 60kg x 10/holding 25kg x 12 80kg x 8/holding 25kg x12 90kg x 6/bodyweight x 12 100kg x 4/bodyweight x12 Hack squat drop set Start on 80kg do as many reps as possible then take of a 10kg plate until no plates left KILLER After the drop set I reached the holy grail and had to go outside to be sick! Quads felt demolished after this! Once I picked myself back up time for some hamstrings Hamstring machine curls 70kg x 10 77kg x 8 86kg x 6 94kg x 4 Stiff leg dead lifts 3 straight sets of 8 after every 8th rep paid at bottom for 3 seconds - 60kg using Olympic bar. Single leg cable curls 25kg x 12 - 4 sets Legs battered and body drained time to go Home and get some food in me will sleep well tonight, don't think the girlfriend will be to happy with my breath though especially on v-day haha

thanks dazc, and yea i'll listen to him as I have no clue anyway about prep for a show. An added bonus, the guy who runs my gym and is doing my prep is friends with Trevor Chung so he'll be comin over Whenever he can answering questions and giving advice! Thought i'd stick my diet up as I Havnt yet: 7:45am 4 weetabix 250ml liquid egg whites 10:00 am 2 x 200g chicken Tortilla wrap Mayonnaise Lettuce 1:00pm 200g chicken 200g pasta Mayonnaise 3:00pm Bannana Protein shake 4:30pm 200g chicken Tortilla wrap Mayonnaise Lettuce 6:00pm 4 weetabix Train 8:00pm(roughly) Post workout protein shake 8:30pm(dinner) A type of meat (pork, beef, fish usually) 2 jacket potatoes Vegetables (broccoli, carrots) 10:00pm 250ml liquid egg whites

Shoulders tonight my least favourite! Due to that fact that injured my left shoulder a few years ago, alcohol + trampoline = bad news. So now my left shoulder is weaker than my right and frustrates me eg on dumbbell shoulder press my right shoulder will have more reps in it but the left is alread at failure, annoying! Anyway on with training Dumbbell shoulder press 27kg x 10 30kg x 8 32kg x 6 35kg x 4 1 arm cable side raise 40kg x 10 50kg x 8 55kg x 6 60kg x 4 Rear delt cable cross 30kg x 10 40kg x 8 55kg x 6 60kg x 4 Dumbbell seated side raise 14kg x 12 - 3 sets 4th set went to failure(14reps) and got spotted on 4 more Rear delt machine (reverse fly) 77kg x 12 - 3 sets 4th set same principle as above can't remember reps Ez bar upright row 15kg a side x 12 - 4 sets

Jnr2006 cheers mate, erm ive been told to keep eating and trying to gain for at least 8 more weeks then we'll have a look at wether to cut or not then. So I don't know for sure but could be in 8 weeks. Arms tonight will post session later!

Arms tonight Biceps: 1 arm dumbbell preacher curl 16kg x 10 18kg x 8 20kg x 6 22kg x 4 Olympic barbell curls (really working on full ROM,straight arms at bottom of movement) 35kg x 10 40kg x 8 45kg x 6 50kg x 4(little bit of cheating) 1 arm over head cable curl(cable on highest point, handle in 1 hand take few steps to the side so there's tension and curl towards face) 20kg x 12 - 4 sets 1 arm preacher machine 20kg x 12 - 4 sets Triceps Cable v bar push downs on lat pull down 28kg x 10 35kg x 8 42kg x 6 49kg x 4 drop to 21kg x 18 Rope push downs on Lat pull down 28kg x 12 - 4 sets Straight dips 10kg plate x 12 - 2 sets 10kg plate x 8 Body weight x 12 Wrist hurt after dips, a little worried but seem fine now 1 arm cable tricep extension, real slow 12.5 x 12 - 4 sets Done james's 3 minute calves to Not looking forward to the DOMS tomorrow from calves but overall a good session tonight gym was quiet so practiced some posing with Adam (the gym owner) at the end. Lovely steak for dinner tonight to!

Trained chest yesterday morning Flat bench 10 x 80kg 8 x 90kg 6 x 100kg(spot on last) 3 x 100kg Incline bench 10 x 70kg 8 x 80kg 6 x 80kg 4 x 85kg Decline dumbells 10 x 30kg 8 x 32kg 6 x 35kg 4 x 37kg Machine flys 56kg x 12 - 4 sets Practiced some posing with every competing at the gym Saturday afternoon and went through what pills etc I'll be needing Now to enjoy the rest of my cheat day!!
