We have very very big lorries up here too… on very very teeny, pot hole filled roads…. The lorries are NOT the problem.. it is the very very stressed mummies ferrying their very very pampered offspring to school who are running very very late.

The fear of riding on a road is FAR worse than the actual risks.

PS – I have had some crackers of crashes on cyclepaths… it’s cycle skills… there are some brilliant courses run by British cycling to teach all things cycling and road confidence! Highly recommend them.
MyProtein The Myprotein range not only includes the finest quality bodybuilding staples such as: Whey Protein and Creatine Monohydrate, but are also spearheading the sports nutrition market with innovative products.

As you said, no worries, get yours checked - THEN worry!

I went through the same recently so whilst genetics could be a factor, it may not be (and wasn't in my case).

Re:Figure Contestant Wanabe 2012/05/01 21:16:51 (permalink)
Well it's the 1st of May & as promised the plod has started

The holiday was fabby. It’s bizarre that all that landscape is in this country, the variety of geography Britain has is awesome. We were soOo much more comfortable in conditions last week than the 34degree heat & 95%humidity of Oz! Was just loverley...helped with haggis for breakii each day!

So back on the programme. Today has been tough, I’m cutting down on caffine and haven’t had any today. About 2pm a stonker of a withdrawal headache hit and hasn't left as yet, despite 2 paracetamol+2 Brufen! It’s eased but not gone
The MetabolicEffect (ME) book touches on the hormonal responses that caffine creates in the body and these can be tolerated IF then followed by exercise, as the hormonal response that exercise then produces is conducive to enhanced fat burning. If the caffine is NOT followed by exercise the hormonal response is detrimental to fat burning. So I will be having small amounts pre-WO.
I’m watching the carbs too. ME does NOT advocate zero carbs but does suggests there are different types of fuel burners with individuals being affected differently by the protein/carb make up of food/meals. The analogy used was petrol cars vs diesel. I think it’ll do me good to carefully watch my carb intake but know I’d not survive, nor would Mark, with none! It’s easier now salad time is here and then I feel like I get a pudding by using fruit as my carbs.
I’m heading back to SlimmingWorld on thurs, more for weigh in accountability and paying it forward than the diet itself, we’ll see. I’m back on track, very much feel so and I’d like to think my journey could help inspire some others.

So diet plan at the moment looks something like this:
Wheat grass greens drink+Aloe Vera
Meal 1 – Breakii – 2eggs made up to 250ml with whites+50gcooked weight brown rice+dash french’s (+vit c)
Meal 2 – Mixed berries+shake
Meal 3 – lunch - large green salad+toms+beetroot+cucumber+TspUdo’s+TspBalsamic+Chkn +1/2apple
Meal 4 – 100g homemade ChknLiverPate (blended liver+onion+dash garlic)+veggies to dip +1/2apple
Fibre drink
Meal 5 – Dinner – Large salad+Meat/Fish+Barenaked noodles +Pear

WO’s this week are the ME circuit Wed+Fri
I have worked out a progressive plan introducing just one extra WO each week until I’m back to 5xam walks and 5xpm WOs but hopefully summer’ll be here by then and it’ll be easier?!
Marks onboard too, so that’ll help. And we’ve no more holidays planned in this next 12 weeks.

Good to see you back with a progressive plan.

I use caffeine as and when I think I need it. Post SUC and pre actual prepping I cut out my caffeine right down to one cup of caffeine beverage per day, and sometimes none at all and didn't experience any withdrawl - but I do use decaff coffee or herbal teas a lot.

Once it's out your system you won't notice it's gone.

HelloOo!
Ahh bless you, thanx  Yes, I really do feel a LOT more on it, let's hope this feeling continues  Yes, quite pleased with diet, tho have been proper hungry today, but just gotta suck it up for the mo, there's plenty food there, it's just I've been a greedy biatch for too long!
Ooo, I do hope summers' not too far away, I love my 6am walks when it's bright and quite, just me and nature, fabby

Weird, moi?!
Actually planned the bones of the progression on my iphone whilst in Oz! So it's about bloody time I put it into motion!

So, as mentioned above bit hungry at mo, but I do have a greedy biatches stomach size, so this will adjust soon enough, whilst I'm hungry I'm not wanting to cheat, so not so bad  (even tho only 2 days!)
Did NOT want to exercise tonight! It just hurts at mo, backs sore, hips are stiff, muscles have atrophyed... but I felt soOo much better after, had a good stretch too, and was dry so managed to do in fresh air in back garden. Helped curb appetite a bit too
There’s 4 circuits, so week 1 = circuit 1.
The aim is to be doing 5 circuits in the 20mins, 12 reps of each exercise, I made 3 tonight. The moto is: push until you can’t, rest until you can. There’s no set rest periods just when you need to, for as long as you need to. I used 5kg DBs:
Squat with a row
Chest Press with Crunch
Squat with BiCepCurl
Squat with LatRaise

Mmm, just tried a new Pukka T after dinner; 3 tulsi, very NOM!

Re:Figure Contestant Wanabe 2012/05/08 13:12:39 (permalink)
Feeling really quite pleased with myself

Fri PM I did my circuit again, week 1 = circuit 1.
Made 4, I used 5kg DBs:
Squat with a row
Chest Press with Crunch
Squat with BiCepCurl
Squat with LatRaise

I had weighed myself Tues am when I started and as a curious interim weigh in Sat am... I’d lost 4lb! In 4 days!! I know it’ll be water, but psychologically it was a boost.
I have not been a saint. I have over used the protein bars as a something sweet after my dinner, just a half, but it’s progress from where I was. And has helped me stick to diet 100% otherwise, so I felt it was a good strategy. I’ll whittle this down to ¼ over the coming weeks and then stop.
We had our cheat on sat lunch and then I got straight back on it, even for sat pm! Now that’s major progress for me eh!? It was VERY NOM; scallops, stuffed pheasant on roast veg & sticky toffee pud! With a pint of Doombar, MMMmmm! Then for food later we had roast chicken thighs, all visible fat+skin removed and whilst Mark had roasties, I had my barenaked noodles
Even breakfasts I stuck with my eggs n rice whilst mark had buttered toast!
I think I may be in the zone, huzzah!

The no caffine thing has been mixed.
I caved thursday and since then have been fine, though I have been drinking decaf products. I was trying to stay off these too as they can create same hormonal response in body, but it’s a work in progress, like bar usage I need to not try to do everything at once, the basics of the diet are there, I need to stay focused on that and the finer tweaks will come.
Missed circuit last night, but had done a couple hours gardening.

Didn't know that re decaff, I use a lot of decaff coffee no problems although do try to get onto the herbal teas where I can but a cup of decaff coffee (and you can get nice varieties) is better than eating unclean food.

Exactly!
It's abit of the old you'd not eat/drink anything if you read too much. At w/e just saw a shred FB look to BBing.com on the virtues of caffine and fat burning, arghhh!

Hope you are having a good week. Sounds like you have got your game back on! horray.

Talking of herbal teas - i have started having green tea and peppermint and it's actually quite nice! you get the benefits of the green tea (antioxidants, potentially speeds up your metabolism etc) but disguise the taste with peppermint ! (which also has great advantages - helps with digestion!)

btw, do you know when the next BNBF meets are?
Enjoy the rest of your wednesday  and happy healthy eating! xxx

Percol Decaf Colombia
Carte Noire Decaf

I also have various bags of decaff ground coffee which I pack into a traditional, lo-tech expresso pot/kettle thingie which sits on the gas hob. Makes a really rich brew.
