Frozen broccoli

Not a question, just a tip (well, almost) - didn't have chance to microwave my broccoli today, it had been left out to thaw as usual, but microwave was being used when I needed it, so I just ate it as it was. Other than being very cold, it was actually very nice! Better than fresh raw broccoli, easier to chew.

I did this once and put some in my tuppaware with some chicken, but it gave a load of water off and spoilt the whole meal!

just make sure you watch how you cook it as many vital nutrients are lost when cooking, so frozen may be a good idea!

Gutted - did you just stick it in whilst still frozen? Last research I saw on microwave vs boiling it was swings and roundabouts. Frozen raw is likely best for broccoli as frozen cell walls will rupture to a degree, making it easier to get inside, whilst not destroying anything heat sensitive.

Tomy why do you let it thaw out? On the packet it says it only takes about 3-4 mins in the microwave from frozen.
