Thanks Sarah! I was uber chuffed with my bikini even though it wasn't finished properly (wanted to sew rhinestones round the top) hoping to make another one during the next couple of months :-)

I'm definitely hoping to compete with the UKBFF again as I really enjoyed the experience - not sure if I'll do bikini again though, depends on how lean I can get as I really enjoy weight training and I want to get a lot more developed - would love to do figure/bodyfitness but again there's the lean issue and I'm quite heavy in the legs/bum!!  Not being able to do any cardio/leg work at the mo isn't helping either!!

how about you, what competitions are you going to enter? x

It's a good way to save money on pre-contest expenses!!
Ahhh brilliant you should start a journal on here - if you haven't already...i'll look in a minute!!
Yeah, there's a big contrast at the mo between the bikini & figure girls but you've got a good muscle base, like you said it'll just be the diet & CV to cut the fat.

The next south east ukbff is in hayes again in june - 12th i think, but come july/august theres a few more round the south region.
So will give you abit of time.

I started "bulking up" last october to do the June show - Bodyfitness, but decided in Januay i wasn't ready yet so not going to compete til the shows in late summer. There's 2 back to back in August, will do one of the other. Will be competing in Fitness.
So will start dieting down 2nd week of may and depending "how ready" i feel i am will do the week earlier or later show.

Hello tara. First of all ignore the faceless keyboard warrior who is blatantly hating.

Unfortunately this forum (as with many forums, uk and us) are filled 99% with non-competitors and 95% of them are total beginners who barely train and rather chat about some other rubbish than actual proper training for years and years.

I think i remember seeing you at the stars of tommorow in the bikini class (if that was you), i saw everyone backstage as i was prepping a friend (jay, who won the intermediate u90's). Not sure if i spoke to you or not but spoke to a few of the bikini and bodyfitness girls.

Keep training hard and smash the prep for your next show, get that invite to the british ;)

Wouldn't say that was entirely fair ...I don't think it's very nice to just join up on a forum and slate 95% of the people straight away ?!

Tara, good luck ! Glad you ignored the idiot that posted... welcome to MT

Sinead its BribBB who has been a member probably more years than I have but has had to make a new account due to email problems with his old one.... so he's been around years and years seeing this stuff and to be fair was sticking up for Tara

Have to agree with him to an extent as well tbh lol....

While I appreciate you sticking up for Tara (though, there really was no need: the mod team already dealt with it days ago), your comments are compeltey unfair and ... well ... wrong.  MT has enough **** (as illustrated above) and we don't need your negativity.

I don't get you mate, in real life you're a top bloke and so positive; on forums, you are so negative!

Sorry mate, i think my message was a bit missunderstood. I think i went overboard as well.

Mt has some great people on, thats why ive come back. There is a good atmosphere and some really good posters.

But as you know, there are also a few guys with faceless avatars, who try stir up things and also like to sit back and watch events unfold...or general nastiness. Youve had your experiences with them, so have i. I dont really need to name any names because we are probably on the same wavelength with who they are.

Alas right now i just started prep 2 weeks ago and had a bad cold :( so had to take 3 days off training and cardio, sods law) so was a bit annoyed... then seeing this chaps message to tara just made me angry.

Dont worry. Like you said, in real life im always polite and friendly, got time for people and try to be a good person... and that's what im bringing to the forums as well :)

The time has come to start a new chapter and be myself... as well as having 2 years off comepting so hopefully kick some ass on stage!  ;)

              Take care.

I'm thinking I should start a journal on here too - I already have a blog (http://www.tarafitness.com) but I'm pretty rubbish at updating as I always think I have to say so much and if I don't there's not much point updating huh?  At least with a training log you're only really meant to be talking about your exercise so might keep my waffling down to a minimum ;-)

sounds like you've got it all sorted with regards to your plan, I wish I had the same but I've never been at the point where I'm like "okay, so I'm here, this is how I want to look", it's all just a continuous work in progress, ha!

I'm pretty much certain I'll do FAME unless my ankle gets in the way as that was huge fun.  I also wanted to do the Musclemania comp in July but I was looking at my UK bodybuilding competition calendar page and it clashes with a music festival I want to go to - nightmare!  The July show is the last qualifier for the Fitness Britain champs so if I missed that I'd have to wait until next year so maybe better to focus on the UKBFF as I've competed with them and know they're top notch... plus, how awesome would it be to earn a Pro card!  I know this is all pipe dreams but no harm in aiming high :-)  I really enjoy getting up on stage although it scares the crap out of me.  At the Stars show my lips were trembling sooooo much I'm surprised I was actually able to smile at all!

My boyfriend thinks I'm nuts, he can't understand it, he's a cyclist though so it's a totally different ball game (so to speak!)

                xx

Shady... judge not lest thee be judged and all that jazz ;-) I've been a forum member for a while with this name... and longer with another username too, I just don't post as often as I'd like as I've got quite a busy job and home life... I do tweet as much as as I can though http://www.twitter.com/TaraFitness where I talk about my training, diet and nuritional research etc

I'm also hoping to compete towards the end of this year as a recent cortisone injection in my ankle has improved things slightly (still can't wear heels though which is pretty crucial!!)
