Glutamine Vs BCAAs

Lots of friends are pomoting the use of Glutamine and BCAA and say they are a must. Is this true? Do you take one or the other? Can anyone recommmend a product? Tablets or Powder?
Thanks

They are not a 'must'. BCAA has its uses esp post workout for reducing DOMS. Glutamine use seems very specific - mostly down to total intake. Those on restricted diets or low supplemental protein seem to benefit more than those (like me) on high amounts.

BCAA are useful pre and post workout IME.

Glutamine has benefits from consuming it several times ED on a empty stomach.

Roughly; Glutamine is a BCAA, it is made from protein, along with the other BCAAs, by the body to send to your muscles. Glutamine is the amino acid your body uses the most of so some people supplement extra for straight after training (and some before bed also for healing) when the body needs it the most.
Xtend is a BCAA supplement and it has 5g Glutamine in a 4 scoop serving (amount recommended to me, on here, by the experts ) along with the Leucine mentioned above and others. I use it and would recommend it for endurance/recovery sports. Hope that helps a little bit.
