Goats mil for Coeliac disease and Dairy allergy 08 February 2012 18:14 (permalink)
Hey all,

Is Goats milk and cheese products etc..safe for someone who has Coeliac disease and who is Dairy intolerant, not just lactose.

I am on almond milk at the mo and it's nice but no matter how much you try and trcik yourself it just doesn't taste the same in your tea and cereal.

Thanks

Goats milk contains similar levels of lactose to cow's milk, however i know of 2 people who are lactose intolerant and they can handle goats milk way better than cow's milk. I know one has it daily on cereal.

It could be worth trying however i would start with small portions and see how you get on, obviously you'll know quickly if you can handle it or not.

If you're intolerant of the casein component of bovine milk then Goat/Sheep products may help as they have a different form of casein that's said to be more digestible. As above, try small amounts and see how you get on.
