Bookerman Not many shampoo/wax products I've not tried and this stuff from Aldi is the best I have used. Problem being you have to wait for them getting it in. http://www.hotukdeals.com...itres-2-99-aldi-925635 Simoniz original wax for a polish but a f**king nightmare to work with. Wow what a deal! Cant find it on the website and no aldi near me. Does it actually leave a shine as well?

I own a mobile car/motorbike valeting company and use Autosmart products which IMO are superior to pretty much eveything you get from places like Halfords. Depends on the market your looking at targeting, if you just doing door to door car washes then cheap stuff from Halfords/DIY store will do as your only charging a cheap price. If your looking at going down the route of proper valeting (for which you should consider training as tricks of the trade speed processes up) then use decent materials. Consider insurance too, scratch a customers brand new Merc and you could be in trouble otherwise! Alot of research will help you succeed, tough job though, trust me, winter sucks!

cheers for the advice OX. for the door to door work i would be doing do you think its best to just use the bare minimals ie cheap car wash and sponge rather than mitts and all that? and how much would i charge in your opinion? you see for just washing someones car with a sponge i dont expect people would pay much, i want to get a decent amount for the job.

It does mate, I always look for product with carnauba wax in them, this is the best shampoo I've found as I say. Aldi only get it in now and again but I dare say the same product is out there just with a different name on it.

If you just doing quick washes then do it cheap but charge cheap, 5 -10 quid will be max, probably closer to 5 quid. If you spend more and do more, internal cleans etc you could charge more. Sounds like you want a quick job so keep everything cheap but get some decent microfibres/sponges and drying cloths as they will wear quick otherwise, just keep your shampoo/wax cheap. You could look into waterless washing to keep things even cheaper and not worry about water atall! Just keep in mind insurance or you could be right royally screwed over if you cause damage! I warn you now though, its tough work, even the higher end stuff i do is. I use a very expensive hot steam cleaner alongside waterless washing techniques and offer other services but only certain people will pay for this kind of work! Best of luck.

Cheers for the advice mate, i think the simpler i keep it the better maybe and with reduce the chances of damages. Will have a look into waterless washing as well. I was thinking something along these lines: Wash wax £4 Wash wax & Alloy spray £5 Wash wax & alloy spray & Shine spray £6
