HIIT nutrition 17 March 2010 10:13 (permalink)
Hi All,

I have a query that i cannot make my mind up on!
I am on a push/pull/legs routine, looking for lean gains. On my two off days i have been doing abit of Ab work and then 30 minutes of HIIT. Prior to workout i have whey and oats, but after i have been unable to decide whether i should be necking simple carbs (Dextrose) and protein or just protein alone.  I have been taking the Dextrose of late but would like some opinions on whether people think i should be or not

Cheers

Early morning training is the way forward mate!!!!

Best time to get the cardio done. By far the most effective in my eyes.

Yeah i keep meaning to give it a go but i get up early enough as it is!

Any opinions out there on the do/don't simple carbs post HIIT workout dilemma?

I would never perform HIIT training in a fasted state, unless you ate a carb rich meal before bed.  I usually do a low intensity workout before breakfast, and keep my sprints/HIIT for later after some decent carbs.

As for PWO nutrution, I'm also interested in this.  Currently I have a regular carb/pro meal, but would be keen to see the benefits (if any) of taking some whey in water, or even some simple carb PWO after cardio.
