Has bodybuilding made you hate some foods?
30 January 2012 09:58
( permalink)
So a bit random, but the repetitive nature of the dietry aspect of bodybuilding has really made me hate some foods I otherwise quite enjoyed over the years. Eggs - First I loved a good plate of scrambled eggs, then it became a chore eating it, but for the last few years the very smell of scrambled eggs makes me gag and I actually think Id be sick if forced to eat it now. Same with tinned tuna, to me the stuff is filth now, all because of previously eating it daily. Im not by any means a fussy eater, I love my food. Wondering if anyone else has over eaten anything as part of a diet and turned it into a sick punishment like I have over time? Jay.

Just bought 16 tins of tuna in water. Just had 1. I usually do something with it make it more palatable ie: add mixed veg, almonds or pine nuts, onions and a drizzle of olive oil. Anytime I get the hump eating tuna etc I just say to myself that training legs is worse!

Smoked salmon maybe... i used to love the stuff, can't seem to stand it at the moment though. However I've completely gone off protein shakes atm, feels like a chore having to neck them!

Echo Supplements lol chicken breast without a doubt - can't believe I'm the first to say that! Thing with chicken breast is; I've become quite an expert at the Marinades and Sauces, so as long as I make it different each time I still enjoy chicken. I've done a batch of spicey jerk chicken this week.......yum!

Haven't started hating any food but I usually get fed up of the same food daily after a month or so and switch. Usually changing between salmon, chicken and mince.

Tuna. Used to love the stuff, now can't stand it. I would say eggs too, but then I never really liked eggs that much anyway so eating a big pile of them is still as much a chore now as it always has been.

Not yet, but I've only been training properly for 14 weeks. That said I've always eaten at least 18 eggs a week and oily fish (tuna, mackeral etc) at least 4 times a week and loads of chicken for many years and never grown to dislike any of it. The only thing I've gone off is chocolate, no idea why but I just feel sick after a very small amount.
