Having trouble!! - 20 November 2009 16:22 ( #1 )
Righty, everybody has the issue over facts versus hype. I've been trying now for months 2 top-rate products and for the last week (maybe not giving it enough chance yet) a pro-test product. I take religiously 3 dorian yates a day, 2 creatine (loaded for 5 days) a day, drink water like a fish (12 pints easily a day), eat 5 meals - all  healthy, steak, fish veges fruit pasta and a box of nuts a day a day - this last week I've also been taking 4 caps of mass FX max strength.

Well guess what, I haven't gained an OUNCE! Since taking the creatine I'll admit i got a little bit of body fat around my stomach, that was it. no fat elsewhere and my face is still thin. The mass FX hasn't made one sh*ts worth of difference to my physique and I cant break over the 9.5 stone barrier. I'm lifting heavy weights at the gym 3-4 times a week. Benching up to 120-130kg on a good day, curling 25 kg, deadlifting up to 150kg on a good day. For my measly weight it's not bad but my strength also hasnt budged since taking the mass FX.. should I wait and continue the product do you think?? I'm really starting to think 'roids are the only way I stand any chance of gaining size and I really don't want to go down that path...

what can I do? I cant afford to eat any more food im already paying a fortune!

strong lifts so congrats on that

but 2 issues come to mind. how are you training and what kinds of foods are you eating?

eg rep ranges, rest periods, frequency/week, total sets
eg quality and quantity of fats, carb, protein, veg fruit

Lots of stuff, the average days food including:

porridge, bread with cheese, peanut butter and toast, spinach filled pasta, butchers fillet steak with veges, lots of fresh salmon and mackarel, chicken and salad, eggs, soup etc. Also like said I eat tonnes of cashew nuts and brazil nuts, take a few pieces of fruit as often as possible. Usually bananas.

This is supplemented with a CNP/dorian yates Pro-Mass shake (2 scoops 350ml milk) at morning, mid day, evening. (mixed with creating on shakes 1 and 3 except on workout days where I take the 1st creatin serving seperately with juice 45 mins before workout). I now also take 2x Mass FX servings (4 caps all in) each day at the same time as my creatin.

Workouts are quite intense, but recently I've been easing off a bit, they dont go over 60 minutes and I usually pyramid my excersises where possible ending on one or two reps of max weight. Recently I havent been able to go to the gym more than 3 times a week. if I do 4 its mon/tues and thurs/fri. Hope this helps?

I'm useless with nutrition so wont even comment there. What kind of height are you? as no disrespect 9.5 stone seems rather light, i was 9 when i started and it just pilled on in the beginning ( i'm 6,1).  I would just eat anything to gain weight and bulk up, didnt worry about clean foods in the beginning any weight in my eyes was a bonus.

As for the workout why not take a different approach drop the heavy weights and focus on more reps / better form. Your weights are impressive some good lifts there but this could be the problem your going too heavy mate.
mix it up a bit try some new rep ranges etc mix the exercises around.

Hardest thing i learned was to concentrate on yourself, don't lift what the guy next to you is lifting, don't lift what your mate is lifting. Get to know your own limits don't just up the weight because your mate is - you'll know when to up the weight - this isnt to say don't push yourself but make sure your getting a good rep range with good form then up the weights.

your 9.5 stone and can bench 130kg?

simple fact is, if your not gaining weight, your doing something wrong;

not eating enough
overtraining
not enough sleep
inadequate post workout nutrition protocol

exactly how many calories are you eating on an average day?

what do you eat post wkout and for the few hours after?

at your weight you really shouldn't be thinking of roids. should be able to slap a few stone on naturally over the next 2 years.

As said somethings not right, look at your diet, training and rest, need lots of protein, good carbs and healthy fats to grow and surplus calories. Otherwise if you really can bench 130kg properly not partials at 9 stone I think you could have a bright future in Powerlifting espcially if thats natty. I think 130kg at that weight in a natty PLing fed you'd be challenging for a world record lol.
