I watched the fight too,i saw haye run away all of the fight to stay out of trouble(imo he knows his chin isnt good and would have been kod if he had fought)
Valuev came forward to bring the fight to haye but haye didnt want to mix it,all he wanted to do was run,
Now imo thats not the point of boxing at all, anyone can run away, valuev should have won that fight and i think he was robbed  because of the money involved with haye.
A very poor performance for a heavyweight title by both boxers but haye was particularly crap truth be told.
Valuev was his chance to frighten the other heavyweights imo they will be lining up to fight him now.he wont have that title for very long.

ROFLMFAO!!!

Are you sure you saw the fight?

Haye didn't want to mix it? he was in the ring FFS and used tactics that got him a convincing win.

Did you expect him to go toe to toe with someone 7 stones heavier?

The point of boxing is to hit and not get hit.....Haye did this.

Valuev robbed? FPMSL.

To be fair, he did break it against a prehistoric skull.

but haye if any good at heavyweight should have knocked him out why couldnt he?

The same could be said for the other 50 fights he has had,Haye had him in serious trouble in the 12th with a broken hand.

This tells me Valuev would probably have been KO'd had Haye not injured his hand early on.

Your just far to critical of Haye,he was fighting for a heavy weight title for the first time and got the job done against someone 7 stones heavier and fukd his hand in the process of having the giant wobbling.

What more did you want FFS?

lol tactics my arse he was scared of getting hit.

yes ,i dont like to see boxers "run away"

The point of boxing is to hit and not get hit.....Haye did this.

nope, the point of boxing is to box,how can you assess a boxer if they run all night?get one lucky punch in near the end then become a legend lmfao.haye did not come to find out who was the best boxer, only to try and get the title the best way he could, and that wasnt to box for it,he should (if he was any good at heavweight) have outboxed on all fronts ie defence, attack, skill etc etc he didnt do that.

Valuev robbed? Many have said this after this shambles of a heavyweight contest.

Another person who watched the fight on the drink?

You got a boxing match and Haye won it convincingly.

Yes tactics, it's what is used in sports to get wins at times.

So you are disagreeing that the point of boxing is to hit and not get hit?

Get out of here.

The point of a boxing match is to:

Defend
Attack
Be skillfull
Not get hurt by your opponent
So i agree with the above.

I dont drink so didnt watch the fight under the influence,i watched a poor champion and a runner trying to produce a boxing match, taking into account what we have decided above this fight was a very poor show of any of the reasons people box.its supposed to be entertaining for the fans too, were you entertained?i wasnt tbh.
My personal view of haye is: he is a very good and professional boxer,at a lower weight.
He himself knows he doesnt have the power to drop most of the true heavyweights out there (even at the moment) he knows his chin is suspect and therefore didnt take any risks,(neither did his promoters which is key)
I think the idea he broke his hand early on (if he has at all) came from himself and isnt exactly true, imo it was an excuse he thought up because he knew it was a bad performance on his part,(particularly with all his bravado and disrespectfull thibngs he was saying, and apparently going to do to this guy).
It didnt happen, but if you were entertained by that show good for you.
As i said though there will be many heavyweights want to fight him now on that performance imo of corse.

the fact that a freak of a man was champion in the division only highlights how bad HW boxing is these days..
Gina- it was never gonna be a classic boxing match.. u cant fight valuev the same way u'd fight someone 6'3-6'4 say.. its just not possible mate.. i know what ur saying, but i think what he did was perfect t be honest.. made valuev miss and hit him with clean hits.. if he hadnt messed his hand u maybe we would have seen a KO, but i think he always knew he would win it on points.. far too quick for valuev and when he had him stunned, he went in for the kill... but to stun someone that big is gonna take some effort.. why gas urself out tryin t KO a freak like that, when u then run the risk of bein completely manhandled by the sheer size of him!!

Re:Hayve vs Valuev - 14 November 2009 15:14 ( #89 )
The fight wasn't a classic by no means, but the 12th round was worht the watch, and the hand injury was not an excuse,Haye's right hand was almost double the size of his left,as I saw myself while he was live on skysports news the following day.

I think he showed he does have the power, certainly as he was the first and only man to have a 23 stone giant in Valuev rocking in the 12th round for the first time in 50 fights.

Oh come of it mate, every fighter says they are going to do this that and the other.

The main thing is Haye won and won pretty convincingly in the end.

Some people are just never satisfied,if he fails to perform in his next fight or 2 then you might have a case to moan.
If you love something let it go,if it comes back to you it's yours,if it doesn't it never was.

Im not moaning mate,i do rate haye very highly, and i like the bloke(although i dont like some of the things he said, imo its unessesary)
Maybe your right and im too sceptical who knows, but i just expect more from a boxing match than what i saw,i understand its difficult to look good against one so big  and cumbersome.
Maybe i was just disapointed in the fight, hope he does better in the future.

boxing doesnt really have to be entertaining to be honest!!
im sure they dont really give a f*ck what we think on its entertainment level.. its their profession.. they go out to win! i'd rather win ugly than put on fight of the century and get beat..

not so sure about the hand.. it was huge the next day on sky sports. yeh there will have been guys who have lied in the past, but after seeing it, i can believe him.
i recko he should have stayed at cruiserweight too mate, yep.
but he had nothin more to prove at that weight really did he.
i cant see any of the heavies out there really causin too much trouble for him tho, as said, the division is pretty poor.. he's obviously seen this too and fancied his chances at bein a unified champ. would be good if he could do it, but by no means would it make him a 'great'..
welterweight's where its all at these days..

on another note.. i looked up the weight limits for each class last night.. v v surprised t see just how light u can be to be in some of the categories.. 200lb+ is heavyweight.. :-( welterweight is a good 30lbs lighter than it is in UFC... bit surprised by this t be honest

Thats fair enough as I know a few who were disapointed with the fight, but in the circumstances I thought Haye did well.

Over his next few fights I am sure we will get a better idea of how good a heavyweight he is.

yeh.. i think it was just a case of 'get valuev's belt', then prove how good a boxer he is against the 'normal' guys...
cos the klitchkos are really normal at 6'7+ each!! haha

Dont know about this mate tbh, if its not entertaining ticket sales/media will loose interest and the boxer is doomed to failure through lack of interest.
So to a degree there has to be some entertainment value imo.

yeh, i konw he says he wants them now, but i doubt we will see that for a little while..
as for the entertainment aspect.. yeh i see wat ur saying mate..i think a majority of the time hto, the entertainment will come with the quality of the boxin.. im sure pacman doesnt go out thinking, im gonna be entertaining tonight , however, because he is a v v good boxer, its almost pre determined that a fight with him in will be a good one t watch :-)

Haye should use the same tactic against the Klits. It would be very effective, especially against VK

Valuev showed a lot more mobility than Vitali ever did. Vitali is effective against static targets, his athleticism is about as good as a drunk Stephen Hawkings. Coming forward looking for a mobile dancer with fast hands is alien to him, his body could let him down.

Against Wladmir I can see Haye doing the same and all he would have to do is land once.
