Help for a newbie - Am I eating too much? 25 January 2012 01:27 (permalink)

I got back into training about 4 months ago but my main problem has always been putting on/maintaining weight. I recently decided to try and increase my calorie intake as much as possible but I'm worried I'm taking in too much. Currently I'm eating 4 meals a day, several snacks and two mutant mass shakes (2 scoops each)

Everythings going well with my training/size/weight/look but there's a few side affects which are worrying me. I'm getting stitches after eating sometimes, I'm getting itchy rashes and have developed really sensitive skin and I feel constipated sometimes and passing hardly any solids (sorry to anyone eating)

Like I said training and the weight gain is going well I just want to check i'm not damaging my body or doing anything I shouldn't be. Any advice would be much appreciated!

How much do you weigh now? You should post up your diet and I'm sure guys will be able to give you some tips.

As for being clogged up.. Could be because your not getting enough fiber from your diet. Do you eat alot of veg. I'd also try keeping a diary and slowly eliminating foods to see what causing your reactions..

A lack of fibre / veg is normally assoicated with constipation.

Would be good to see a typical days eating as mentioned above.

I agree you should start eliminating some foods and gradually introducing again to see what the culprit is. You must be sensitive / intolerant to something.

I'd strip right back to basics - lean proteins, veges and fruits and see if the problem stops then gradually add other things back in (if you need to, you might feel great without it!)

I'd buy some psyllium husk fibre to help with constipation and drink loads of water and make sure you're including plenty of green veges too.
