Hi! I finally got this and looking forward to starting it... Just a quick question. Is there anything I can replace the green tea with? Not been something I like...

More questions. Do I have to have everything int he breakfast box?Don't really want the apple really. For the lunch list B I am struggling to work out what to have. The best I can work out is maybe a tuna salad but with no bread or pasta it seems difficult to me. Any suggestions? For the dinner list B do I have to have something out of the last section like ice cream and red wine? Seems like they are not as good for you but maybe I am wrong? I re-read the exercise bit and how much cardio do you suggest and should that be done every day with the weights on just 3 days? Any recommendations on which cereal bars and glucose drinks are good? Also what if I want to go to the gym in the morning? How does that affect the plan?

ORIGINAL: SunTzu Hi! I finally got this and looking forward to starting it... Just a quick question. Is there anything I can replace the green tea with? Not been something I like... If you don't like it, simply have normal tea or water. Have you tried flavoured green teas? ANd is 3 times a week enough for the gym routine? 4 would be better, but if it's all you can do, then fine - but train hard! Do I have to have everything int he breakfast box?Don't really want the apple really. Have another item of fruit For the lunch list B I am struggling to work out what to have. The best I can work out is maybe a tuna salad but with no bread or pasta it seems difficult to me. Any suggestions? I'll get someone to give you some ideas here For the dinner list B do I ha ve to have something out of the last section like ice cream and red wine? Seems like they are not as good for you but maybe I am wrong? Correct, but these are designed as a 'treat' I re-read the exercise bit and how much cardio do you suggest and should that be done every day with the weights on just 3 days? I'll get Mark to answer this Any recommendations on which cereal bars and glucose drinks are good? I can't name brands, but any cereal bar you buy form the shops is cool, or make your own. A leading commercial brand of glucose drink is fine - or simply add dextrose powder to water Also what if I want to go to the gym in the morning? How does that affect the plan? What time in the morning?

Any suggestions? why not try a simple mixed leaf salad with cherry tomatoes and a few olives mixed with sliced chicken breast cooked with herbs de provence or my favorite virtually noncarb lunch is stuffed pepper pots with cottage cheese and spinach Any recommendations on which cereal bars and glucose drinks are good? the Jordans fruesli bars are good. as for glucose drinks, supermarket own brands work quite well compared to their retails counterparts, cheaper too

Awesome! Thanks for the replies. I'll post to let you know how I get on. As for the gym I often go at about 6am but I can go in the evening to stick with the plan. Still unsure what to have for the Dinner B but the salad sounds nice but I don't like Cottage Cheese! I'll have a think but any other suggestions are welcome!

Just bought this and sorting out what to buy tomorrow when shopping I have been out the game for about a year and a bit now due to an illness which now has passed. I am not a fan of green tea as a drink. Is it ok to use supps to replace this as a drink. If so are capsules ok and should 1 capsule be taken for each point in the program where it states green tea? Thank you :)

I was hoping the Green Tea caps would replace any need to drink tea LOL. I am not a fan of Tea. Coffee yes, tea no. I guess I could try the flavoured ones? So if caps are used you need to take with your standard tea? Thanks for the quick reply

If you like coffee then that's fine too. Or neither/none! Just water. Sorry for the confusion - just take them with water

Ahhh cool. Cheers for that. So basically following the serving details for the specific brand. So for example myprotein say 1 capsule is 1 serving. I take 1 capsule EVERY time it mentions a cup of green tea. I think though I might give the infused tea a crack. So coffee at the same time as Green tea cap is ok? I do like the odd cup of coffee I have skimmed milk and dont have sugar either. Thanks James :)

One last question or two (sorry) the day with Bananas do these have to be for every time. Or can you say have banana, orange and an Apple? Also can you supplement Muesli for something like Oats or does that just feck up the balance. Cheers

Another quick question. Some meals say to have Coffee/Tea I assume this is kind of optional? I know the green tea is important (On a side note infused green tea isnt too bad). Does it matter if I have maybe one cup of coffee or maybe two at different times or say one extra? Cheers

LOL ok. How many would say is too many. Usually on a week day I would have about 2 sometimes 3 and sometimes 1. With skimmed milk? Usually none at the weekend!

Well just over 2 weeks on this plan. I have dropped 11lbs I know a LOT will be water. The first week I dropped 7 and the second 4. The missus has also dropped 7lbs as well. Pretty easy to stick too. However I do find on low carb days that I get pretty tired easily.

Yes you are correct, however he did also write another one which was for the masses who weren't into lifting iron. A quick run down of what his one is: High protein & fat, low carbs (no more than 30g per day) 5-6 days of the week. On the 6th - 7th day (or just one day depending how sensitive to carbs you are), you have a low ammount of protein, reasonable fat and high carbs. The main idea is to be using fat and protein as a source of fuel for the body. I couldn't really see what this (HiPaCC) was doing exactly, and would be interested to know a little more. Many thanks !

Hi just bought the book and plan to start on Monday having done all of my shopping for the week today. Just a quick question if I may... Can veggies be considered 'free'? I mean, why can't I stuff my face full of broccoli, peas, carrots as I wish? Only there are only a few very specific veggies mentioned with the menus A and B. Also, unlike some, I love green tea, but tend to have about 4-5 cups a day, with 2 tea bags in each cup that are left in until I've finished the drink...I'm going to have to cut down aren't I?

Hi James, Well I finally started it on Monday, I wanted to read the whole book before hand. I think my previous failed attempts of various diets were down to portion sizes, and weekends devouring crud. So I've printed out the diet days, lunch & dinner menus and stuck them to my wall ! :)

Sorry for the late reply - I completely missed this question Yes veggies can be considered 'free' Green tea is lighter in caffeine than black tea but you still need to watch the amount that you have, but 4-5 strong cups per day should be ok

Just thought I'd give a little feedback... 4 weeks down now and have lost exactly 1 stone! I'm overjoyed with the results I've had. I was 'trying' to cut beforehand but had reached a bit of a plateu. I really didn't think I'd drop as much as I have and so am understandably 'well chuffed'! First couple of weeks I really struggled with the weekends and felt tired. Fine now though, so you really do get used to them. I'm about 5lbs from my target weight now and will hopefully manage that in the next 2-4 weeks. What then though? Would it be best to stick with the same plan and up portion sizes, or add another meal somewhere?

Hi boo - thanks for the feedback - and great to hear! Glad you feel ok now too. You have 3 choices: 1) As you say, continue on HiPaCC with higher portions 2) Follow a HiPaCC Monday style day everyday with larger portions 3) Simply follow a normal healthy eating plan (which is a bit like a HiPaCC Monday) with plenty of variety and some portion control

hey james, basically i was thinking of trying the HiPaCC diet as someone on here said it would be good for me to do, im 24 6ft and 16st, how well would it work for someone in my condition also i find it quite boring on exercise bike but if will show good results doing both hipacc diet and cardio, i might just do it, but im waiting to get an actual bike to cycle round park, so would the hipacc diet work without exercise for the time being? thanks alot

Hi Guys. I bought the book this afternoon and have given it a read - really interesting. Just have a few questions about it, but will give some background first. I'm 23. I was an obesce teenager, and when I was 18 thought enough was enough, and decided to get my ass in gear. Anyway, since then I've lost about 14" off my waist. Anyway, though I am really pleased with my progress, I am finding it harder to lose the last bit of fat. I'd say I've got about 3 stone of fat to lose to be ripped. I've spent the last few years putting lean muscle on, but recently it occurred to me that I have never fully achieved what I set out to do, although I am pleased with my overall progress. Anyway, now to the questios: 1) I'd consider myself a level 1 HIPACC consumer. I run in the morning before work three times a week, and go to the gym every night. All in all, a lot of training. Sometimes in the evening it's thai boxing, sometimes weights. Mostly weights really. Anyway, with the breakfast on the plan, would it be ok to have the 20 g protein before the run, then have the rest of teh brekkie after the run? I ask because I don't want to lose any lean tissue by doing an intense run unfuelled. 2) Post workout drink I've got PHd Synergy protein shakes which I currently use as a complete meal after a workout. It's basically a carbs/protein mix. Is this ok as a substitute for the glucose drink after the workout? Cheers
