add in some deadlifts?

If your traps are not growing and you are using a quickish tempo for your 8 reps. I would try a higher number of reps eg 15-20 for a few sets.

Just joined a new gym where it has  a Hammer Strength squat/lunge machine. I can use that for that for traps and really load it up and I hope that helps me make progress otherwise I wil be down the upright row route as well.

Cheers for the info guys, i already do deadlifts aswell which is another reason for why im abit baffled as to why im not seeing my traps, as for the workout ive just changed to a new one with calls for 4x6 and ill be doing deadlifts on a wednesday and shrugs on a friday, my question is a know upright row works your lat delts and i do shoulder press on wednesday to so doing upright row on friday would that over train my shoulders? if not then ill throw them in for superset and see if that changes things up.

cheers

Deadlifts and shrugs, allthough I havent done deadlifts for a while

I do 5x10 on Shrugs, raise the bar and hold at the top for a second or two then lower...repeat for the duration

slow and controlled is the key I find
