Holiday Inn vs Premier Inn
06 February 2012 17:41
( permalink)
Hi all :) I have got to go down to Basildon, Essex in March to do my CompEx course (5 day course). The two closest hotels to the training centre are a Holiday Inn and a Premier Inn. Which of the two would you choose, and why? Ive stayed at the Holiday Inn at Carrow Road, Norwich and thought it was fairly decent tbh. Also, stayed in a Premier Inn in Port Lethen, Aberdeen. Wasnt too bad, but IMO didn't think it was as a good. Cheers

I stayed at a premier inn a few weeks ago and it was pretty ****. Cant really complain though because it was only cheap. I heard Holiday Inns are nicer.

Cheers for the reply Burney :) What did you find was bad about the Premier Inn? No probs mate. The bed was crap, we had 2 pillows between 3 of us and when I went and asked for another one the woman got in a huff about it. The room wasn't that clean and the bathroom was worse. It might have been done in a rush because we paid for the early check in at 12 and they might not have had much time to clean. It didn't really bother us because I think we paid about a tenner each and when drunk having 1 pillow and crappy beds was fine

I always find premier inns good and clean and the breakfast is all you can eat and decent quality, travelodges can be hit and miss.....some lovely and some dire, I'd go for a premier inn everytime.
I wish I was more attractive like Dagless.

I find Holiday Inns are very good in my experience, usually good sized and well presented rooms, usually free parking and lots have a half decent fitness room, food is often pretty good too. The last one I stayed at was Hull Marina which was excellent for the money. Holiday Inn Express on the other hand are about on a par with Premier Inns, cheap and cheerful.

Holiday Inn is much more expensive, but generally much better.
