Home gym routine 17 October 2009 22:52 (permalink)
My work schedule has changed recently and getting to the gym has become difficult, so instead of missing it, i've bought myself some equipment for home.
I'm now looking to get myself a proper routine set up around the gear that i've got.I 've basically been following what i done before but had to chuck a few things out/in to replace certain machines etc that i ain't got.
Anyway the equipment i've got is a bench, barbell, four dumbell bars, ez bar, and a tricep bar, plus just over 200kgs in cast iron plates.
Unfortunately i haven't got around to getting a chinning bar as i really haven't got anywhere for it to go.
Training days will probably be monday, wednesday, thurs and fri.
I'm currently not training legs (details in another recent post), so no need to factor them in. I'm training mostly for strength, but size is always delightful.Any ideas?

Get a power rack if you can ..

Since i setup my own home gym ive seen the best strength / size increases for a long time.

    I basically do this -

    Benchpress day
    Deadlift day
    Squat day
    Military Press day

Each workout focuses on the compound but i had 2 or 3 excercises to these such as - Wide grip chins on deadlift day .. Incline DB press on bench day etc..
Been going well for me so i'd advice that for you .. If you can get a power rack ofc
    Deadlifting my way to success....

Yeah been looking at power racks, i know it's so much safer with one, but being this close to crimbo, i think it may have to wait until the new year. The one thing i'm concerned about is whether  rows are gonna fire up my lats like the lat pull down.Like i said i haven't got room for a chinning station
