How much muscle a month ?
-

( #1 )
Can't find a previous thread about this I once read. I was bulking about 6 months ago and put on alot of weight quick, so I scrapped it and wen't back to the drawing board. Now 3 months in after starting again, I've gained 3 lbs in 3 months on a clean diet high in protein of course. Is it likely thats mostly muscle ? Cheers.

could be more could be less depending if you've gained or lost fat as well.

You will know best. Do you think it is mostly 3 pounds of muscle?

Very difficult to say either way, are your weights increasing? Are you taking Cissus Drol mate or am I confusing myself with someone else here?

I thought it was CD(double dose before workout)but hey they're very similar and I know you were considering either....I'd forget about a pound of muscle here and there to be honest, if your lifts are slowly creeping up then all is good, the scales can really mess with your head imo, my weight increased but 5-6 pounds in 3 hours a couple of Sundays back, I was chuffed as I was worried when I weighed myself the first time...all a peace in the mind thing but means little :)

Yeah the lifts always go up, but I think, if the lifts go up and I'm the same weight in 3 months, then I've put on no muscle, I'm in it for hypertrophy not strength. I was the same a while back, my weight was going up 10 lbs over a weekend, I've always been nice and lean so it worried me, trying a lean bulk, but I want muscle along with the strength. I think the ax takes a week or 2 to kick in doesn't it ?

3lbs in 3 months doesnt seem a lot mate , if diet is up to scratch should look to put on 1lb a week obv that wont be all muscle but its what id be aiming for , obv if your on cycle then its a different story all together
If you only do what you know you can do- you never do very much.

You're right its not alot. I could easily carb up more, but I don't want the fat. My protein intake is high, so if those gains are mainly muscle I'm happy. 12 lbs of muscle in a year would be bloody good :)

id just eat eat eat mate wouldnt even worry about any fat gain , just get your size up and then cut down , you wont even look fatter if your gaining mostly muscle and a little bit of fat, its to be expected on a bulk tbh

I understand your thinking, and many go with it, but i'd rather look good all year, than just for a few months after a cut. If your lifts go up, you must be gaining muscle right ? :)

When you were eating lots of extra cals, where did you tend to put on the weight? IMO unless you are a total newbie(and you're not)then consuming vast amounts of extra cals non-assisted is pretty pointess...your genes, bodytype and frame will only really allow you to build so much muscle naturally, it's hard to know what that could be but the longer you are training and trying different methods the more you get to know your own body...your own test level 'could' be average so this again may limit your progress..

Waist, exactly my point.

One pound a month (natural), sustained over a period of time in someone who ISNT new to lifting (or putting on 'muscle memory' gains) after a break sounds about right to me mate. 1lb a week without some of it being water/fat is unrealistic except in newcomers and those using chemical assistance IMO

Cheers tac, this is what I thought I read, so my gains are in line with this. I feel better now :) I can't see the point in eating everything and putting on fat too. Just my opinion.

If your naturally a skinny bloke you should be able to cut the waist down very quick. Just eat like fcuk for a few weeks then spend a week cutting. Repeat until progress stops.
