I am so frustrated!!!! - 20 November 2009 20:47 ( #1 )
I am totally obsessed with training............ nutrition, routines, cycles etc. It drives my friends and family mental because it is all i ever do, and all i ever talk about. I spend all night at the gym, and then come home and spend hours on here.

I was too fat last christmas, i was 15st 6lb and had about 3 chins, and looked dreadful. Hard cardio training and good dieting brought me down to 14st 0lb (12%bf) and i felt good. I felt strong, and life couldn't be better.

The only problem was that i wanted my muscles to be bigger, as ive said in many other posts....... i want to look like im from the cover of mens health etc.

Done my research, gave it some careful considderation and started taking gear 4 weeks ago. Im doing 500mg sus pw, 250 on mon, 250 on thurs.

I have gained loads of size, and im much much stronger, here comes the frustration........

I am now 5 weeks short of christmas and weigh 15st 8lb (17%bf). I take on loads of water, and i eat ALL THE TIME (since my diet was critisised as being too light in previous posts). I look worse than last christmas. Yeah my chest and arms are bursting out of my t shirts, but there's not an ounce of definition there, and my face is fatter than last year!!!

I know you can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs, but i feel so demoralised and ****, has anyone else had this before, or am i just whining and being impatient?? sorry to bore everyone, but the gym normally makes me feel good, but im kinda resenting the whole lifestyle!!!

I can see where you're coming from. I ate loads and strength went up, but although I was very strong I was in poor shape (high bf) I was around 101kg. Through diet and cardio Ive cut down to 92kg and look much better for it. I have lost a fair bit of muscle.

I'll work on gaining lean muscle now by eating right and training. I think your'll get there in the end, what was your diet like when bulking?

i'll give you todays food......

2 bowls of porridge
1 banana
3 apples
2 slices marmite toast
200g dry roasted peanuts
biopot strawberry yoghurt
2 ham and mustard sandwiches
4 white chop chip cookies
2 huge helpings of shepherds pie (each with carrots, peas and cabbage)
2 protein shakes
2 pints of milk

And im still starving lol!!!!

I know there's some bad foods in there, but previous posts have told me that c**p food is better than no food, as the sus manipulates all calories for muscle develoment thus preventing fat gains.

Ive also had 7 and a half litres of water. I feel like im doing what i should be doing, and my strength gains have been phenomonal, however, i really look terrible...bloated, fat and feel really lethargic. im sure something aint right.

Thats like dejavu, exactly the same as what I was eating. Going by my experience you're going to have to cut out the junk.

I was given a diet by a friend which is that of a pro bodybuilder. I wasnt spending nearly enough hours in the gym let alone cardio to justify eating so many calories so I got fat.

Your lethargic because the sugar in those cookies etc is causing peaks and crashes in your blood glucose level, natural fruit sugars could be supplemented instead. Thats what I did and felt a lot better for it.

The pain may come over you, but don't let it overcome you.

No wonder you're holding water mate, to be honest with you, that's a pretty shocking diet - and you're currently on cycle....clean it up fella!

There's quite a few good article on here about bulking diets that you could get some ideas from to.

I don't know how sus manipulates the calories, will have to wait untill someone more knowledgable comes along to give you an answer to that one.

Diet is awful.

Get your carbs from lower gi options like brown rice, new potatoes, sweet potato (oats are fine)

Get rid of the junk - cookies aren't gonna do anything except help you get fat.

It's difficult to say f you're getting enough protein as you don't mention the macro breakdowns - but on first look i'd say almost definitely not.

There are many articles on tried and tested bulking diets on here - i'd strongly suggest following one of them.
Age: 21
BW: 92.6kg
Bench: 105kg
Squat 145kg
Deadlift: 205kg

Goal:

Bench 100x6, Squat 165, Deadlift 220, at BW < 88kg

tbh i have never used one because i dont mind water rentension

but it lowers estrogen which will lower water rentension and bloat, plus lower risks of gyno(nipple lumps)

That diet is really bad mate. Wheres the protein? the shake looks like the only visable protein source.

This is a run down of my diet which is not perfect:

MEAL 1          4 Wheetabix, 1 ½ Scoop whey Protein, 1 Banana,

MEAL 2          4 eggs scrambled, 3 slice wholemeal bread. peace of fruit

MEAL 3          1 tin tuna Bowl of rice or pasta & veg.
Pre Workout – 1 banana. 2 scoops protein shake.

TRAIN

Post workout – 2 scoops protein/carb shake with L-Glutaime

MEAL 4         2 chicken breasts, large portion of veg with rice

MEAL 5          4 whole eggs 1 slice of  wholemeal bread.

MEAL 6         ( Before bed ) 1 scoop time release protein with 1% fat milk

3 - 4 ltrs of water per day.

Sometimes I have 7 meals
Just balance each meal with a good quiality source of carbs & protein but cut cabs late at night.

I'm with you on the obsession thing, if I go a day or 2 where I dont eat well I get really pissed off with myself & I never miss a training session.

When you come off cycle & loss the water you will feel better, just stick with it a be patient, the more you train & the more you learn about, diet, training, gear tec the better
you will become, rome wasnt built in a day

Gaz01 - The diet you just posted up is not ideal to say the least. And to think your on steroids while eating that food is a real waste, get your diet sorted before going on anything in future. Go into the diet section and ask for some help, on first glance your taking in double the amount of carbs that you are protein. Poor

To the OP an DJbarry -- as much as DJbary has a clean diet there is not enouhg calories in his diet for me to grow!!  I did something very similar and it was like being on a cut LOL!!

Tobe honest I think you should look a a diet that you can eat day in day out comfortably and ask if its possible to gain and his a particular weight, once you are happy ad nail it for a few weeks work at training cycles to improve your conditioning at that particular weight. Afterall whats the point in you getting massive, to then cut, to be unhappy how you look, to then eat shi.te and get bigger to then diet and try and make yourself look better etc?

you are not alone mate, for me I am sitting at 16 stone now and can eat enough to manitain this, I am about 17% BF (caliper tested) at the moment, 11 weeks into my cycle, 8lbs heavier and 5% leaner than the start however if I drop to 10% BF and get awesome conditioning then I know I will look bigger.............. but I will be almost 15stone and will no soubt want to be bigger again than 15 stone so I am trying to lean bulk to 16stone at 10% bf or less and then maintain, eating and training to hold that weight when you are 6ft 2inch is easy however its simply not reasonable for me to think I could be happy at 18stone+ as I can't eat enough to get there (cleanly) and wouldn't want to be a big fella with no shape.

chin up dude, all the best

Sorry should have said my diets not based on building mass, this is my daily maintenace deit which I find easy to run with.

I'm just under 15 stone & lean but I'm not looking to get much bigger just now, the diets just to show him what to eat & how to balance & spread his meals out.

To incease size I would eat much the same but increase the protion size.

There is no were near enough protein in that diet, this could easly explain why you are back to 15.10 without definition drop the cookies, add some chicken, tuna, steak, fish  in at least 2-3 times per day then shakes on top

good luck tho mate

Another suggestion would be to lose a couple of the apples. Some may disagree with me here, but I always keep fruit intake relatively low. This is due to the fact that fructose sugar converts to liver glycogen as opposed to more fibrous carbohydrates which convert to muscle glycogen. Muscle glycogen can then be expended during your workout.

I used to get fat when on gear also, well was fat before gear as well.  Its all well and good listening to people reccomending portion sizes for you to eat, but you need to experiment with calories and portion sizes.

As above sh1te diet.

I eat every four hours:

carb source - 100g oats with either water or 1pnt skimmed milk

Protein source - 4 eggs or 1 chicken breast or tin of tuna / saridnes / salmon or beef

fat source - if not eating eggs or fish as protein source chuck in hand full of olives or almonds

veg source - alternate salad 1 meal, veg another eg broccoli, carrots etc, salad is spinach tomatoes, cucomber etc.

Just repeat this type of meal every four hours and adjust carbs down if getting too fat.  job done.

the only different meals i have are cheat meals or pre workout meals, which are just 100g oats belnded with 40g whey.

sh1tee boring diet but has changed my body composition loads since i iused to eat the kind of crap your eating, although it took me over a year to be able to eat cold sardine in oil out the tin without gaggin lol lol
