Age; 28 Height; 5'11" Weight; 78.1kg Been nearly 2 years now since i did any meaningful exercise due to 2 overlapping injuries. Ganglion cycst in my knee which i had surgery on and a ruptured disc in my lower back. Was really into several sports before the injuries, esp football. Stopped football completely, now only doing back stretches/exercises, cycling and machine weights until i am sure my back/knee can take more. Weighed myself this morning, 78.1kg. This is not a ripped 78.1kg. My avatar pic is a long way away. Aim is to cut down to say 75kg before christmas and make sure the injuries are properly healed then begin getting into heavier weights and more strict diet. I really need to see some minor results to give me the motivation to keep going, having injuries is so demoralising... Today - pull day + 45 cardio (bike) (steam and jacuzzi)

No one could have resisted that cup cake, no one! Just chilling this evening, no gym. No idea what tome I will get home from work tomorrow night, gym if home before 8.30pm.

20km on the bike tonight. Back felt great today. Bad urge to row 500m on the lowest setting...Would it be benefical whilst recovering from a herniated disc? Pressure on lower back versus strengthening back...???

Getting to update my journal from the gym on the bike, nice. Push day; Stretches 23k cycle 50 push ups Seated flyes Core work Leg extensions Did 300m on the lowest setting on the rowing machine. Still not sure... Thinking a new pair of gym shoes, maybe Nike air max lights

Got up for the 6am rugby this morning so a bit lethargic now. Gonna give the gym a miss today and cook dinner and the cinema instead. Planning on being in glasgow tomorrow so monday evening it is.

Really didn't feel like the gym this evening but motivated myself to go. Quick pull day; Stretches Leg curls Seated row 20k cycle Hanging leg lifts I reckon i can make the gym 4/5 evening a week with probably 20k cycle each time with basic machine workouts. Diet will be reasonable but plagued by prob 2 chocolate bars a day, 3pm and 10pm. Trying to make minor improvements such as only drinking americanos when out and about, wine/whiskey and diet coke instaed of lager etc. The more results i see the more seriously i will be able to take it, hopefully it will snowball.

Weight this morning; 77.4kg V. Happy but have a feeling a weekend off the booze had a lot to do with the 0.7kg drop in a couple of weeks. Aiming for sub 77 by end of October. Should be strict with gym and booze but a BIG weekend planned for my birthday and Halloween at end of October....

Gym this evening was only 10k on the bike and 1k cross-trainer. Was watching the scotland-spain game but it was all over at half time. Doubt i will have time to get to the gym tomorrow evening but will do my best. Made a huge pot of soup this evening, gonna try and incorporate it more into my diet, so healthy.

Cheers Needtoloseweight (how about N2LW for short? :-)) I have posted in your journal. A girl is leaving work and she brought in coffee cup cakes this morning. I convinced myself that the caffeine in the coffee cup cakes would increase my metabolism and therefore help shed some weight, a true win win situation if ever there was one. Off to buy some coffee ice cream and some Kahula
