IAWA Celtic Strongman Competition - 24 July 2009 21:31 ( #1 )
The third annual IAWA Celtic Strongman Competition will take place in the Plen and Gwary in St Just in Cornwall on 29 August 2009.  The event is a drug free event and tests will be conducted on the day.
 
Held in the Plen and Gwary in the centre of St Just the event is the final event in Plen week that celebrates one of the oldest amphitheatres in England.  The local chamber of commerce are supporting the comp and it should be a good crowd.
 
Events for the day are:

Deadlift, last man standing - no supersuits,belt, talc and chalk allowed.
Hand over hand land rover pull
Log Lift last man standing
Tyre flip (320kg tyre)
Farmers hold (135kg in each hand)
Atlas stones, 90kg, 100kg, 120kg, 135kg, 160kg - tacky allowed
