IFBB Worlds 3 athletes fail drug test

The winner of the Bikini class at last years IFBB Worlds failed the drug test so was disqualified along with a few others......

there was 3 women who failed here are the new placings...

Oh dear......Oh dear. British Bodybuilding being brought into disrepute on the World stage and unfortunately being sponsored by CNP who also happen to sponsor the British Olympic Cycling team.....oooooohhhh PR nightmare

This is the most ridiculous statement to make.....considering DRUGS are in constant use in our sport. Lisa Cross and team happened to fvck up.

I dont understand what they are trying to do to the sport we love so much.

Since when do the IFBB drugs test ? :confused:
 
They'd better disqualify Mr Olympia then !

If I remember rightly don't they test for banned diuretics and that's about it?that would fit with the bikini competitor since I very much doubt a competitor in this class would require AAS.
 
Further clarification would go a long way from IFBB, but I'm afraid it is all very odd.

As a muscle talk sponsored athlete perhaps Lisa would like to comment?

The IFBB only do drug testing at the world championships. Plus the IFBB have done drug testing at the Olympia before only testing for diuretics.

Not sure why they test at the worlds only but I do know that in amatuer IFBB shows they do testing at the NPC Natural shows in America.

If I remember rightly, Lisa is trying to get her pro card and this probably won't be very welcome, especially since we all know how dedicated she and all other bodybuilders are.

the 1990 Olympia was drug tested for steroids also, and it showed.

Seems like someone seems to be out for Lisa! You trying to tell me that every other female on the list has not used a banned substance?

This must have been a random test then because surely the entire line up would have failed if they were testing everyone ?
 
Must admit to being rather shocked at the bikini failing... I mean you really don't need any assistance to get to that level do you :/
 
Hope Lisa is ok... she's a lovely lady and very dedicated and it seems very unfair to have this black mark against her

Zeeeees waz my very first thought but then I thought that would be being paranoid/encouraging speculation on conspiracy theories etc.
 

 
Still have a feeling it was a diuretic, poss random but how come none of the blokes were caught out?

The worlds have always been tested it is a well known fact, I don't understand why as you don't get tested before or after the worlds but they have been a tested show for a long time.

I don't think anyone with any sense is saying this is a natural show nor that no one apart from these girls used any banned substances but they where unlucky to be caught....

By the IFBB rule book (you know the one the UKBFF keep quoting) actually says that all competitors and judges will promote naturalBB (or words like that) it also says that all shows should be drug tested?.

The rules and set-up of bodybuilding in the UKBFF and IFBB are a little hazy at best.
 
Just make the use of everything legal or illegal. Don't just look the other way when it suits you, it's why no one outside bodybuilding respects the sport.
 

Feel bad for Lisa Cross (don't know what's up with the other 2?), she'll bounce back I'm sure. 

So what happens now? Does this mean Lisa is banned from future shows or she's just disqualified from this one?
 
I really can't see how a federation can insist their athletes should promote natural BB when they clearly aren't a federation that abides by their own rules and they won't even work along side a true natural federation in the UK (BNBF).......not allowing the BNBF to have a stand at Expo, not accepting an MC who has presented the Scottish show for years to continue if she remains with the BNBF!!
