No probs. May need to put your stance a little wider and possibly work with straps down for a while.

12/8/08 Just some light shoulder work; BTN press- barx10x5 Dumbbell side, front and bent over raise- 10x2 on each (5-12kg bells) Farmer walk holds- 2x100kg impliments x 30s Dumbbell row- worked up to do 75x3 Lots of stretching and band traction Felt like **** today. Still getting used to extra poundage on the shoulders squating equipped. Anyway feal better now so good. Played with farmers walk impliments for the weekend. They are very basic standard gauge impliments with a low pick up. Essentially a long dumbbell with small handle. I picked up 100kg per hand and was happy to hold there for 30s, however my training partner Pat couldn't get them up. It didn't help that I was using some oly guage plates and meant it was very loose and tricky. We dropped it down to 90 using only 2 oly plates and Pat had little trouble with that. Gona get hold of some more standard plates and test em again on friday

Not at the moment, although it sure dose look fun! Running a smal unofficial meet this sat; max floor to overhead anyhow, max deadlift and farmers walk.

My openers for Saturday: 90 / 200 Does the gym have bumper plates and/or an oly platform? Me and Dave tried to set up something on the floor using mats to minimise noise and damage but we ended up ripping both of them. More reasons for them to ban our asses

Iain - my Inzer Rage-X bench shirt arrived arrived today - size 48. According to the Inzer site it should be 2" bigger than your chest measurement. So 48" should be just right. However, I can get my head through the neck hole but it barely goes past my shoulders and won't go anyway past my arms. I've probably got a proportionally small chest and I imagine I need a bigger size but how should they fit? So tight there's no circulation? Big enough to get on but tight enough so movement is restricted? I got this from eBay so I'm limited by what auctions come up.

How long did you spend trying to get in the shirt? Did you have anyone pulling the shoulder/arms for you?

Not planning on competing but never say never. Just thought it would be a nice addition to see if there's some carryover to my raw bench. The only help I got getting it on was from my missus who's a frail 8 stone so I possibly could have tried harder. There just seemed no way that it would budge past my arms.

Sounds like the shirt fits well! Bring it this sat and we'll get you in it. If I remeber I'll bring my suit slip ons that'll help A new shirt will take a few sessions to break in and get sorted. My advice is after this weekend 9if we get it on) to get it at the begining of a bench session. Take some weights and then off and crack on with normal work. My new shirt couldn't get seated in my pits the 1st time despite some big effort by 2 people, 170 could only just get down to a 2 board bepth, and had to have somone position my hands on the bar. Now, 5 sessions later, it goes on with just 1 big tug per arm, and I can get 140 to touch if I want too. Having said all that it does seem as though the shirt is possibly too tight for what you want it for.

14/8/08 Pullthroughs- 10x5 Roman sit ups- 10x5 Rowing- 10min (approx 2100m) Stretching for lower back mainly Not much more than a warm up today. Felt beat from sundays squats this week and with the comp on sat 'put my feet up' duing the middle of this week. Still I felt less lazy for doing a little bit of fluff today!

15/8/08 Bench press; 70x5 80x3 90x2 100x2 110x2 130x2 (shirt on) 150x2 170x2 (pb, all touched and paused ) 150x5 (pb) 2 board press; 130x2 140x2 150x2 Great session today. Really nailed the benching. Very happy to do a max double with what must be very close or just on comp form. The 5 was hard work in the shirt, but all but the 1st rep was touched. Good days! Finished with some limited assistance work, but the 150 2 bp was a very tough double.

Cheers Tommy, I did! 16/8/08 Sugden suthern meet / Kendrick Classic Power snatch; 80x1 85miss PCPP 90x1 102.5miss Not a lot on the tank. 80 snatch felt **** and just didn't want to get under the 85. So **** it switched tp PCPP but had done non in warm up so although 90 felt light it was an effort and 102 just didn't have the legs. Came about 5th place out of 10 in this lift Deadlift; 260x1 270miss 270miss Again nought in the tank. 260 was easy although didn't hit it well, but 270 just wasn't happening today. I actually took my belt of and decided that was that after the 1st attempt but in the end took it again.... which was a bit pointless LOL. Still 1st place on the pulls and up to 3rd overall Farmers walk; 90kg implemenst x 53m Enjoyed this, although really wanted 3x20m but there you go. It was enough to get me the win by 1m, and the win overall! Not outstanding work on the deadlifts but It wasn't really the week for me to attempt pb's so there you go. I had a great time and nice to meet several guys from this site; LMonkcheese, Dave, Ithopener and Mouser. Cheers for making it down and lifting hard. Full write up nxt week!

Big thumbs up for a well organised meet. Always good to put a face to members' names. What a decent bunch of trainers. I look forward to the next Southern meet. Hope you guys had a nice Nando's after. I've got a reasonable bit of footage which I'll try and sift through at some stage and whack up onto YouTube.

Good stuff guys it was a pleasure! 17/8/08 Squats; barx10 70x5 90x3 130x3 155x2 190x2 (suit on straps down) 210x2 (straps up, knee wraps on) 220x2 240x2 260x2 (pb) Good session today. Not pulling well yestarday actually did me a favour today with only my traps were sore, due to farmers walks. Happy with double pb, will be my opener at All English. Both my arms were buggered by the end of the session. Heavy bench plus the sntaching and cleans on sat set them up and the squating knocked em down! Found it hard to raise my water bottle by the end Binned the raw work due to it. I'd done my pb so job done. Still the ibuprofen and codiene has done it's job, so will be fit for benching nxt friday. Ice, baths and more drugs tonight

Single lift comp at end of October. Then 2009 will be trying out equipment. Greater London's is usually around October, but I think it may be moved to February. I'll be doing that.

After all that it turns out it'll be the bench one I'll be doing now. Both are on the same date, so it makes no real difference to me. Deadlift would've been the 600lb attempt, so instead I'll be doing a gay ass weak bench attempt. It's all good experience for the long run though...
