Physio is going well and on this weeks session I will be doing deadlifts and bench pressing, light weights of course but should be up to nearly full capacity by the end of the month.

Can't keep a good man down!

OK after a temporary setback 3 weeks ago when (and don't laugh) I was having sex and pulled something in my back which caused it to spasm badly again.

Physio diagnosed pulled muscle around the L2, noit serious but it caused me to panic for a while!

But back to doing my normal split routine in the gym but obviuosly with still greatly reduced weights. Believe it or not its bench pressing that seems to agravate my sciaitc nerve the most. But feeling a lot more positive and confident. I am back at home this weekend and there is a wrestling show in my home town! Gutted that I can't work it but all my old friends will be there so I'll be down before showtiem to have a run around in the ring and get the feeling back!

Was back in the ring last week having a run around and taking a few bumps, it felt fine!

I'm up to a 60kg bench, 50kg squat and deadlift and 16kg dumbells for shoulder presses.

I'm progressing slowly but surely, just waiting on a final appointment with the surgeon to give me the all clear that damage has been repaired.

Just a little update (if anyone is interested) Training is going well and i have put a fair ammount of muscle back on since the surgery.

Bench is now at 75kg, squat is at 75kg, deadlift is still at 55kg but I am a little scared to move up weigthts as that was the straw that broke the camels back literaly! I am also doing shoulder presses with 25kg dumbells. I know I could lift a lot more but was advised by consultant to take things slower.

So still a lot to go but its a fair step up from lifting the tiny pink weights post surgery! My consulatant told me there is no need to see him again as he happy things went well. He did say I should leave it to the end of the summer beofre going back to wrestling so we'll see.

I have more feeling back in my leg and foot allthough the top of the foot and big toe still feel a numb.

Come to think of it, i might check my chicks knicknacks when she comes home because my sex life has went massively down hill years ago

                good to hear,
take things steady as you are doing and dont rush things even though you may feel you can do more.

The top of my foot has a strange numb sort of sensation that im told will be with me forever now, not a big deal tho.

Yeah I was told the same kind of thing, if it doesn't come 100% back in a year it won't. But I've learned to live with it so thats no big deal.

When I think back to how I was last summer when walking to the tube station was like hiking up a mountain and having to pull myself up the steps using the rail. Its a big difference!

                        Raven - any update mate?

I've been out of training since April with what I'm sure is an L5/S1 prolapse (no MRI or formal diagnosis yet). Every time I get symptom free I venture back into the gym but the symptoms return as soon as I as much as look at a loaded bar.

Time consider paying for some formal diagnosis and treatment (my GP is a waste of space). Would you recommend the consultant you used and, if so, could you post his name up here?
