Insanity 13 October 2011 09:27 (permalink)
Just wondering if anyone has tried this and got good results?

I will confess that I've started this as an extra into my cardio weekly routine and I quite enjoyed the format and exercises included. I was pretty shattered after it and really felt like I had done a proper workout.

Not sure if folk buy into these so called ' Abs is 60 days!' type workout but it certainly works up a sweat and must be burning something off!

I've followed the workout although not stuck to their rigid regime, the exercises are great for weight cutting but it's no new secret that Calisthenics are great in a body fat workout generally as your working your whole body, i normally add a 15-20min Calisthenic workout after burning all my carbs in a heavy session to aim to cut body fat and has worked well, 30secs star jumps,30secs burpees,30secs split jumps and 30secs mountain climbers, 1min rest repeated 5 times does the trick.
I'll give them credit though they really know how to reinvent aerobics!

        This, trailer for it....

I have to admit its been good to build up some extra strength in my legs, was hurting in places I didn't know could hurt. You only get out what you put in I suppose but I have enjoyed it.

Been adding into my weelky routine, only just started doing it so can't tell if its made any difference anywhere apart from my legs.

It's a style of training, and old one two, repackaged. It is effective but as will all things fitness it is effective within it's remit.

i started on insanity and p90x. good results, but then decided to hit the gym just because i wasn't keeping motivated enough and too easily distracted at home.

it'll be a good balance for you as your doing cardio (running - sustained) right? this is HIIT i believe so you'll be doing 2 types of cardio.

i do the yoga one from time to time though.

Running at least 4 x a week on top of push/pull/legs, I'm doing 2 or 3 x 45 sessions of this along with my training too. I've not been following it completely but it makes a change from out running in the rain all the time!

Its good to work up a sweat and the abs workout is pretty nippy but I wouldn't stick to it religiously! I use it as an extra cardio session 2/3 times a week at the moment.

Was just wonder if anyone had actually done the whole 60 course and noticed any big difference.

I did the full 60 day programme......it took about 80 days though due to work and life!
I lost 2 inches off my waist and improved roughly 30% from 1st fit test to the last.
I did no weights at all during the programme but have gone back in now lifting a 3 day split. I've not noticed a massive difference in my lifting ability which is interesting.
I now do max interval circuit and max cardio alternatly 3 days a week with a normal 3 day split.
(i'm confident i'll look like a god soon...........positive mental attitude!!)

I just finished Insanity the other week,
Took about 80-90 days in all as i was mixing it up with cycling & light weights.

I lost 12kg overall and a 48% improvement from my first fitness test to the last.

                      Highly recommend this work out

It's as hard as you make it, if you throw up and faint then your a warrior lol, half the people won't come out of their comfort zone, some people train 110%, it's not the size of the man it's the size of his heart.

its great for muscle strength endurance, conditioning, cv fitness, buring calories etc insanity becahbody is the 1st 1, insantiy the asylum is the new 1 which is more advanced for once you can cope with beachbody ok, also p90x is a similar thing but plyometrics.
i believe with a healthy active lifestyle and some good knowledge and aas/peps use etc that you can live a longer stronger better life.

main interests: physique conditioning, bbj, muay thai.
