Inspiration for new Mums and Mums to be
08 August 2009 20:55
( permalink)
Pregnancy is no excuse not to compete Link to story of one of the BNBF figure girls who told us all backstage at the finals last year that she was 8 weeks pregnant!! She was back on stage at the qualifiers again this year having given birth just 8 weeks previously!! Spot the deliberate mistake "pole axed"

The 8 weeks after bit makes it very impressive. Moreseo as to how she fitted in training, cardio and dieting around a new born

Exactly!! Here is a little extract from her journal.... well its only 5 days till the central and just over 7weeks since i had blossom. I havent been able to diet as i have been breast feeding, but for the last 10 days i have been eating a lot more proten and cut out all of the crap. I have been either in the gym, speed wlaking or doing aerobics for an hour every day and i am pleased to say i am at 63kg 1kg off my weight from last years final and 3kg off my weight from last years central. I know i wont win as i am too heavy in the bum and legs as i am storing fat from the feeding, my abs arnt quite there yet and my boobs are huge from feeding (i promise i havent had them done lol), but i hope to qualifiy on sunday as i know by the finals i will be in really good shape. if i had an extra 2 weeks i think i would have been there or if i hadnt have decided to breast feed, but i am loving that part of being a mother its hard work but its well worth it.

Inspiration - Absolutely, you can have and do anything you want so long as you want it badly enough. The only excuses people normally give are the excuses to NOT do something.

absolutely amazed by KTs pic. I think the more people tried to tell her how hard it would be the more determined she was to do it!

That is remarkable work. Certainly a lot more inspiring that the usual "look at Celeb X who got her body back" nonsense articles.
Awesome pic, but Tony you're not doing yourself many favours posting up tips on preventing the gag reflex and then a picture of a guy touching his toes - Ak

Well done to her, when I was pregnant I had allsorts of plans what I'd like to do but unfortunately for me pregnancy was not a good time and I had to stop all training almost immediately (I was a runner) because of bleeding problems. I found it frustrating but wanted to make an early come back and tried to go running 6 weeks after giving birth but my abdominal muscles were not up to it so eventually got back at 12 weeks. I also breast fed and maintaining enough milk whilst training is a hard balance. These types of fit ladies were my inspiration too, but whilst it works for some it's not possible for all.
