Is testosterol safe?

I have recently started training and have been advised to take testosterol pills.

Can anybody give me any info on if these are safe to use and what results they will offer?

thanks

Who has advised this to you?

I'm not all that familiar with this 'supplement' but the members in Supplements forum may be.

    Welcome to Muscletalk!

If you can provide a link to the actual product you are refering to it will make it easier to comment.

I have seen a product that has the name Testosterol and it is basically a Pro Hormone. If you are unsure what that is then the quickest and easiest way to get an idea is to basically think of them as steroids.

I found this > http://www.naturalimpact.com/maxtes.html < and it looks bogus. To prove my point > http://www.naturalimpact.com/diancoonma.html < Apparently "dianabol" contains tribulus and 7-keto... yea ok. Looks like a rubbish company ripping people off with products with steroid names.

    Testosterol XP:
Ingredients Serving Size: 4 Capsules 1 Test Ether (17-Beta-hydroxy-5-alpha-anddros-1-ene-3-one Ether) 25mg 1,4-AD (1,4-Androstadienedione) 25mg 4-Androstenediol 325mg Tribulus terrestris extract (45% saponins) (stem and dried fruit) 600mg L-Glutamine 1000mg Beta-sitosterol 150mg Milk Thistle Seed Extract 200mg Other Ingredients (dicalcium phosphate, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, stearic acid, silica, magnesium stearate, and pharmaceutical glaze)

    Megabol Testosterol 250:
    # fitosterol – 250mg
    # extractum rosae – 32mg
    # extractum pruni cum inulini – 31mg

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the second looks like crap.

The first one isn't too good either, I'm sure those doses for the 1,4AD are very low. As they're prohormones I believe they should be in a higher dose.

I'm not an expert on the subject, so I don't know

This isn't exaclty the same, but you can see the difference in dosage, plus I remember reading this needs a few bottles to run it at a sufficiently high dose.

1,4AD has an oral absorption of 50% and converts to boldenone at 15%. so 25mg is useless. 1 gram (1000mg) a day seems to be the dosing protocol
