RE: It's Just a Ride! - 18 December 2007 19:59
I am proud to say that I haven't touched any of the Hotel Chocolat goodies but I did have a few from the box that I brought back from Germany in September. Had a bit of a sweet tooth due to those lovely monthly hormonal changes and it wiped me out on Sunday night but I had nothing I had to do so no probs there!

I'm back on the Ready Brek for brekki thanks to a new coffee maker to heat my milk and a scrummy new choccy and hazel nut protein powder that we have to try. Had it this morning and it was pretty nice. The PP is nice and fine and mixes well and isn't over sweet so I should be able to stomach it in the mornings. I've got an exhibition stand at Manchester Tattoo Show 2nd week in March and I want to wear shorts so that my tatt is on permanant display (beinf a tattoo show and all that) so after Xmas I've decided I'm going to pull my socks up and shed a few pounds so I don't stand there looking like Mrs Frumpy with sausage legs lol. That's the goal so it's something to aim for and I'm really looking forward to the convention. Loads of weird and wonderful people and stunning tattoos everywhere you look.

Space Cadet is is away til Thursday so I'm jigging my training round this week a bit. I didn't train yesterday as I was period pooped and had 2 hrs of massaging to do. I went for chest and arms today but decided to do arms 1st for a change but just 4 giant sets of 4 exercises, 2 for tris and 2 for bi's the on to chesticles!

Giant Set.
Rope Cable Curls (hammer)2 pl,
Rope Cables Pull Downs 3 pl
EZ Cable Push Downs 4 pl
OH Cable Curls 4 pl
4 sets of 12 reps for each exercise starting with a different one each time.

Chest
Incline DB Press
20lb x 12
25lb x 12
30lb x 10
35lb x 9

DB Pull Overs
30lb x 15
35lb x 15
40lb x 15
45lb x 12

Dips (spotted)
8, 7, 5 The last set were not spotted as my spotter Mr G had to nip to the loo lol

Cables Cross Overs
3 plx 10 - 2 sets single arm and 2 double!

Dreadmill
60mins this morning
15 mins pre WO
45 mins post WO.

All in all not a bad day. It's still bloody freezing at our place but today wasn't AS bad as it has been.....but Spring is still a long way off so the Nanuk of The North look is here to stay for a while

Hey,
You think your place is freezing - come up here to North of North - I've got ice...on the INSIDE of my windows. Hubby insisted on living in a Scottish 'Big Hoose' - impossible to heat with rooms as high as the sky You work out in the gym here and your hands freeze to the bars
Will try and post up decent size pics sometime over Christmas - coz even I can't see me properly on those tiny things I've uploaded!
That Tat convention sounds good. Do you tattoo yourself? I've got a real strong urge for a half sleeve, but can't quite merge all the things I want, the way I want them. You know what it's like - when it's right it's right!
Gonna sound a real dork now - but is that you in your avatar?

OK you win....it's deffo colder upt' North of North. We have some friends up your way and they used to live in a hoose where they would wake up with the bed covers frozen stuck to the walls Perfect for your deerhound though...lovely dogs they are!

I'm nowhere near clever enough to tattoo myself so I donate myself as a canvass. If you have some ideas of what you want find a tattooist that you like the work of and go with your ideas and they will put it together for you and you can play about with how things will fit over your arm. Our tattooist is just ACE. We go with ideas, reference pics have a chat and then she goes away and doodles ideas.

Yup tis me in the pic, it's a couple of years old but appart from the hair I'm pretty much the same lol (still crap on the banjo lol)

Well well well here we are again of an evening! Life is just a wirlwind! Why won't men let you put your freezing cold hands down their pants????? One of life's great mysteries don't you think!

Anyway...I digress! Because I was training on my own today I thought I'd go for a nice giant set for legs.....WHO THE FECK SAID IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO LET ME THINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I decided on 5 exercises, 5 sets, different start each set, 8-12 reps moderate weight. Well bugger me sideways twas a killer but also felt rather good once I had stopped feeling sick

Legs
Giant Set

Squats - 30kg,35kg, 40kg, 40kg, 40kg (am happy to say that I made really good reps for all of these bar the last set of 11)
Seated Ham Curls - 4 plates, 5, 5, 5, 5
Leg Extensions - 2plts, 3, 4, 4, 4
SLDL - 15kg, 30kg, 30kg, 30kg, 30kg
Leg Press calf Raises - 85kg all the way through

I finished off with 3 sets seated calf raises! And that was me done....literally. I just about managed 15 mins uphill on the dreadmill afterwards (did 30 mins prewo). Not even Kitty's inspiring choccy texts could keep me going. In fact I got half way through sending her a text then just couldn't be @rsed LOL. Well we'll see how we feel in the morning when I have to babysit for a friend chickenpoxed child....me being Mother Earth an' all

lol - I used to play banjo too - years ago - I think it was a five string - one string had the tuning peg halfway up the neck. When I was seriously skint one time I took it to a second hand shop and the guy broke the bridge then offered me peanuts for it It was a serious consideration as to whether he would keep his shop window intact!
Yeah, Deerhounds are great - we kinda collect abandoned or mistreated dogs/cats, can't resist a sob story! We've only got 4 dogs at the mo' - the Deerhound (Elsa), a lurcher called Princess and two German Sheps, Sheeba and Blue.

My tattooist is great - 'Richards', Aberdeen - he actually grew up about five miles from me down south. All my tats have been my own design and really have a deep meaning for me - I could never just have a piece of flash done for the sake of it! I'm looking to get more on my right arm. I've got a celtic heart with three lobes (one for each of the children) and I'd like a celtic armband, but something a little quirky. I like to involve the children in my tats if poss. Their names are Bibiana (but she's known as Bibi) Tessi and Merlin. The girls middle names are Daisy and Rose, respectively - which lends itself to something flowery! I'm really itching to get something done - but it has to be right! Did you find your foot/ankle was really painful?
I've treated myself to a Yamaha guitar - it brings back memories of gigging and being on the road. My boyfriend (at that time) used to play with 'The Mission' and 'Artery' and our good mates were Jarvis Cocker and Candida Doyle -of 'Pulp' - I played with them once at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield - problem was that I was playing a string of bottles filled with beer...and guess what...they were never in the same key coz I kept drinking the beer

Better get on - I have a really prickly retail manager to deal with tomorow - might just have to bite his head off...

Bloody 'ell...that's a zoo. I'm trying to talk Paul into letting us have just ONE dog FFS!

Yup that was a 5string. I'd LOVE to be musical and I have loads of really talented friends but I am naturally cr@p. I love live music and we go to as many local gigs that we can. Our local www.glassbarrel.co.uk has some good bands on but I love accoustic/Americana/Bluegrass and non folky folk (if you know what I mean).

Sounds like your tatt will end up the dogz bllx. The ankle wasn't too bad TBH, over the side of the knee made my toes curl a bit though lol

Yey, non of the animals are in the house tho', coz they're all really destructive (We've had holes bitten through walls and banisters chewed off) - but they all have heated quarters outside. We keep trying, but it's not happening...yet! If you have friends that are talented band members, let me know coz I have access to one of Sheffields best stages!!!

I found the worst bit with my ankle was around the tendon at the back, but otherwise it wasn't too bad. My foot kept twitching of its own accord though which wasn't very practical!

I heard the ankle could be really painful, and the ribs too. My right wrist really hurt and it wasn't even a biggie - 6cms x 2cms - did have to gulp a couple of times Definately not a good thing - to twitch whilst being inked

Twitching's bad....passing out is worse LMFAO. Had done 3 hours of tattooing in the 3rd session and then my tattooist's next client didn't show so after a break we decided to carry on...bad idea especially as I hadn't eaten well enough. Well my blood sugars dropped and then I did LMFAO. Luckily I could feel myself going so got her to stop and told her I was about to pass out. Woke up being handed sweeties and a banana

Good grief - three hours. You must have had 95% adrenaline 5% blood in your system! No wonder you passed out!!! I found that after 10 mins or so, I couldn't feel much - but that would probably change if I was having a really long session It's the outline that nips, the filling in is just kinda tickly - maybe it's just that none of mine have been in a particularly painful place

I am pleased to say that all is well in Tan's World as ever. We spent yesterday making mince pies and gingerbread men which I love doing and I have to say they taste the bllx. We even managed over weekend to do the food shopping without killing anyone I only have the Venison Wellington to prep this evening and then we can just chill out tomorrow and watch crappy films!

The gym was open today but only for 6 hours so it wasn't a long one, it was pretty busy though. I think all the lads were trying to escape varying degrees of Christmas chaos at home lol But all were nice and jolly and it was even relatively warm in there today! I did chesticles and arms and had a pretty good work out. Even managed to do 3 sets of 8 dips with no spotter very pleased with that. I'm liking the way my upper body is coming on, actually looks pretty good and leanish....just need my thighs and arse to delard. Well I'll leave that for the New Year and juat eat and train as normal before I really get my head into gear to shift some of it...a wee bit of a personal challenge. I shall be wearing shorts for the Tattoo convention so it will be 9 weeks serious stuff....well serious for me

Well that was pleasant couple of days. Ate nicely, chilled lots and that really was about it lol. Oh yeah I did some gardening, just a wee tidy round but then again it is only a wee garden! The gym was back open today but we didn't have to be there until lunch time. I trained legs at about 3ish as Paul was training then and I would have someone to spot me. It was a good session. Nice and steady. Starting off with squats @ 40kg I went up 5kg per set up to 55kg then back down to 40kg, 8 - 15 reps. Then onto leg press. We now have a 300lb weight on one of the presses and around 80kg weight on the other so I started on the 80kg for a warm up and then onto the 300lb (136kg) and added 20kg at a time up to 216kg then back down again, 8 - 12 reps. Finished off with 5 sets, 8 - 12, seated ham curls! I think it worked out at 8 sets of squats and 9 leg press. I think 216kg for 8 reps is a pb for me so quite chuffed with that. I'm pretty pooped now and just starting to stop feeling quiffy! LOL

FSS Paul has just told me that the weight on the leg press is actually 320lbs and not 300lbs coz he thought numpties would just get confused so he rounded the weight down!!!!!!!!! Ah well just mean my leg press has gone up 20lbs Not bad in 10 minutes!

Where's the tattoo convention? Sounds fun!

As for the Leg Press holy cr*p!! I'm impressed Tan, you're like mega strong! Out of interest, how much does hubbie leg press? I was aiming for 200kg leg press by the New Year but it was completely unrealistic...

The convention is in Manchester at what used to be the GMex but now has some fancy fuffy name that no one ever remembers.

Max Paul has pressed for reps is around 816kg but he regularly now does around 650kg for reps training. I suppose I'm juts used to our leg presses and really trust my spotter (usually Paul) so i just go for it. Plus with the stationary weights now on the press you don't psychologically feel as if you are putting much weight on. Yesterday I just added 10s instead of 25's and it didn't look like much lol I have to say it does make it easier to put everything away afterwards lol!
