Surely all 'raw' protein is undenatured? The same for egg whites, steak etc....they will all denature when cooked.

Caz thanks I'm just getting to a point where I'm happy to stay off-season, if I'd have carried on gaining fat I would have probably had to start comp dieting, just to stop the ballooning process...

Tan - that is true, with the egg whites, the reason they go from colourless to white when being cooked is the egg albumen denaturing...
We were specifically talking about protein powders and Kerry was just saying that Pro-pep/Pro-MR is the only true undenatured protein powder on the market... Good point though, didn't even cross my mind!!!

Tan - I know, I was just chucking in my fact of the day!

Smashed through the 63kg barrier, weighed 62.4kgs this morning, which is nice considering I'm on my normal maintenance diet and doing no cardio... :-) I think the weekly gymnastics is helping immensely

Re:JOURNEY TO LEGS OF A GODDESS MARCH 2009 GOALS ON P.150 - 29 March 2009 16:04
I've been away most fo the week as I followed Carl to Camberley on Wednesday as I missed him, then it was nephew's birthday yesterday and then cinema last night...

This week's training was as follows:
SUNDAY Back
MONDAY Off
TUESDAY Shoulders
WEDNESDAY Legs and Abs
THURSDAY Cardio
FRIDAY CHEST and Abs
SATURDAY Arms
SUNDAY Martial Arts circuits

Thursday's cardio was unscheduled I was due a day off weights but stuck at the gym. I ran at 7/7.5km/hr and managed 20minutes running non-stop, I think that's a record for me, although I was bored to tears after 10minutes and that was even watching tv!
Diet been not good at all especially since the weight breakthrough d'oh! Due on and have been munching like crazy...
Last nigth went to see The Young Victoria, it was really excellent, the best I've seen in ages :-)

Re:JOURNEY TO LEGS OF A GODDESS MARCH 2009 GOALS ON P.150 - 30 March 2009 22:22
Trained Shoulders this evening, wasn't going to train but got to 6pm and had been studying all day, tv's packed up so had no terrestrial and thought I'd resort to food in boredom. Found 'Arm Yourself' in Carl's DVD collection and was inspired by little amount of exercises being done so thought I'd follow same style today but lower reps and really up weight where possible.

So went back to gym a day early and trained - at peak time d'oh!

MACHINE SHOULDER PRESS
10kgs 15 reps
20kgs 10 reps
27.5kgs 6 reps
30kgs 4 reps

CABLE SIDE LAT RAISE
3.75kgs 12 reps
4.75kgs 8 reps, 2 sets

STANDING REAR DELT DB RAISE
5kgs 15 reps
8kgs 10 reps
10kgs 8 reps

CLEAN AND PRESS (Haven't done this since I re-learnt the technique on my YMCA course)
10kgs 15 reps
15kgs 10 reps
20kgs 8 reps

Then, as tv at home broken and I didn't wanna miss Eastenders fix, did 25mins incline walking on the treadmill whilst watching it
HR 106-125bpm
5.5-6 kmph, level 5-10 random profile

Finally pre-menstrual binge has ended! Had clean day yesterday but didn't eat much, today eating was spot on, I even forced some veggies down me!

Today's food was as follows:
09.30 6 eg whites, 1 yolk, 40g oats, splenda, black coffee
12.45 100g Chicken, 40g brown rice, tsp oil
15.45 100g Chicken, 40g brown rice 150g mixed veggies (sweetcorn, peas n broc), tsp oil
18.45 100g Chicken, 40g brown rice, 100g sweetcorn, peas and carrots, tsp oil, balsamic vinegar
WORKOUT
20.45 1.5 scoops Progain
21.30 120g salmon, leaf spinach, cucumber, mushroom, balsamic vinegar

Managed to bag self job at Fitness First, working as a Fitness Consultant whilst I do my PT quals via NASM and will start PT'ing as I go. The course is a bargain at the moment, and I've saved myself £600 so I'll use some of it to do a YMCA Strike course, and something in Exercise in Pregnancy which I'd really like to specialise in

All coming together nicely so far...

I feel pretty good yeah. I think being in love helps Life takes you in funny directions and I'm glad I've taken the time off to re-set myself, I was becoming really irrational about bodybuilding, now I'm just enjoying training

Basically doing the course through Fitness First an being an 'employee' of theirs means I can do the course for REALLY cheap It's been a godsend

Trained Legs briefly:

20kgs 12 reps
30kgs 8 reps
40kgs 6 reps YAY!

LEG PRESS
50kgs 20 reps

150kgs 8 reps
200kgs 6 reps

LEG EXTENSION
20kgs 20 reps
25kgs 12 reps

My legs were BURNING! Then had 25min walk home as always.
Had a nap and went to gymnastics last night. There were some new girls there and I felt much more confident

So am pi$$ed off and fecking chuffed all in the same breath!
Did that 100kg Deadlift, filmed it, then discovered batteries had run out halfway through the rep!!! GRRRRRRRRR

Except Deadlifts, I've decided to train back isolaterally because I think I have one lat much bigger than the other... Been worried bout it for a while and it was apparent at a show last year when someone kept yelling to me 'Get your other Lat out,' and I was!!!

So, back to BACK training lol

DEADLIFT
40kgs 10 reps (warm up)
80kgs 8 reps
100kgs 2 reps WOOP!

SINGLE ARM LAT PULLDOWN
15kgs 12 reps
25kgs 10 reps
30kgs 6 reps

SINGLE ARM HIGH ROW MACHINE
20kgs 12 reps
25kgs 8 reps
30kgs 6 reps

SINGLE ARM LOW ROW MACHINE
20kgs 12 reps
30kgs 8 reps
45kgs 6 reps

Then did 20mins Fitness routine training, had a sunbed and my shake, then a 25min walk home
Going back to train Carl about 8pm

Re:JOURNEY TO LEGS OF A GODDESS MARCH 2009 GOALS ON P.150 - 09 April 2009 14:59
LONG ANSWER WARNING!

I've done heavy stuff since October now, that's 6 months of pretty much the same stuff... I've definitely begun to see more outer quad begin to grow so now I want to move to high rep to see if my leggies will play ball in getting some secret lineage in them now I've lost a wee bit of weight...

PLUS, I promised Carl I'd give his method a go, he thinks it will etch in some detail to my otherwise, uber chunky legs...

I had a long think about it and surmised, all the best BB'er's who have great legs, Kitty you included, used to do some form of distance running. Thus, carved legs are not only down to fat loss but also due to having more slow-twitch fibres IMO. So, if I train my legs so I can 'feel the burn' in a 'long-distance-style method' but with weights, then hopefully, when I do eventually decide to cut again, hopefully I'll have wonderfully shapely pins screaming to get out

In 2 seasons, no matter what my condition my leggies haven't altered IMO, I CAN'T get back on stage til they do... I just don't want to, they really let me down

Measured BF on Tanita scales last week, it was sitting at 19% but better than it was

Interesting concept and worth a shot. Yes, I used to cross country run as a teenager but I actually put my leg development down to when I started training in a "conditioning room" (basically a room with a mulitgym) in the local sports centre when they just started to be the in thing. I loved the leg press and used to over do it and was only about 4 plates from the full stack!! Half the men weren't even lifting that hehe!! This is the same place that had the lying leg curl that gave me funny turns LOL.....no wonder I have hamstrings too hehe!!

I've been training my legs since I was about 14, they were the only thing I could lift heavy weights with, so I did
I do put leg condition down to something more than weights, I sprinted as a kid, was rubbish at long distance, whilst I can't change the amount of each fibre, I can just 'batter' my legs into submission...

I remember reading something interesting on Jenny Garside, which basically said her legs always had problems coming in, so in 2007, she just overtrained them and the separation started to appear...

PScarb also recommended a similar approach, something to get the blood pumping in them, something which heavy weights never seems to do... Myweights are still as heavy as I can go in this rep range mind, I'm crying by the end of the leg press!

Today I left first thing with Carl and went to the gym.

Trained Back and then did an RPM class - my first ever! Then forgot protein shake d'oh! Had to meet a friend in town and thought I'd pick up something on the way (gym had run out of shakes too), a 15-minute walk then took 45mins in the rain - I was soaked! Not happy with Carl, he's lived here all his life and when I got lost and phoned him for help he was no help at all!

DEADLIFT
20kgs 15 reps
30kgs 12 reps
40kgs 10 reps
60kgs 8 reps
80kgs 4 reps

SEATED ISOLATERAL LOW ROW
30kgs 12 reps
40kgs 12 reps
50kgs 8 reps

SINGLE ARM D-HANDLE LAT PULLDOWN
20kgs 8 reps
25kgs 6 reps

RPM Class 60mins

Not lost any weight this week, was surprised tbh as eating has been to dieting standards and I've done 120mins extra CV work that I wouldn't normally do... If I WAS dieting, I'd be about ready to give up now lol...

Instead I'm going to enjoy my tottie cross buns n easter eggs tomororw
