Re:JOURNEY TO LEGS OF A GODDESS MARCH 2009 GOALS ON P.150 - 11 April 2009 22:52
Thanks Kitty, I did :-)
I FINALLY NAILED THE 60KG BENCH!!!! GET IN! THIS ONE'S BEEN BUGGING ME SINCE THE DAY AT MONSTER WHERE CARL WOULDN'T LET ME TRY IT...
A member Carl joined up treated us to fry-up at his cafe :-)
And this evening I enjoyed a fun evening of filing with a beer and some Quality Street (the only thing I wanted this Easter)... Not drank for about 2 months now, one was quite enough!

BB BENCH PRESS
20kgs 15 reps
30kgs 12 reps
40kgs 8 reps
50kgs 6 reps
55kgs 4 reps
60kgs 2 reps WOOP WOOP!!!
Carl didn't want me to try 60, I knew I'd saved enough for that purpose and that I felt stronger than the last time I'd attempted it... Thank god for NOX...

DB INCLINE BENCH PRESS
16kgs 8 reps
18kgs 6 reps
20kgs 6 reps
(Not done that in a while either :-))

CABLE CROSSOVER
3.75kgs 15 reps
5kgs 10 reps
6.75kgs 6 reps
(I was all veiny after that and totally ready to stop!)

Then did 20mins tumbling/holds/linking practise, had my shake and went off for one well-deserved fry-up! Happy Easter everyone!

Re:JOURNEY TO LEGS OF A GODDESS MARCH 2009 GOALS ON P.150 - 12 April 2009 16:12
For Easter, all I wanted was a Quality Street easter egg - the shops ran out so Carl got me a mahoouuuuusive Caramel egg and a box of Quality Street
We shared the chocs last night and I had a beer, then today I trained with Carl and am now enjoying my first easter egg in 3 years, Carl is also enjoying mine, NOT the Guiyan one I bought him...

Trained Arms today, then did some pad work, then did some fitness routine stuff, recorded it too for once Purpose behind it was I had a nightmare last night that I was on Britain's Got Talent doing a fitness routine and Simon Cowell was yelling at me saying "What on earth made you think you could do this?", "You were the WORST I've seen today", and various mean things like that... I woke up bawling my eyes out Then I was like, 'What if I can't do this stuff?' so wanted to record where I was to see it for myself... It wasn't that bad at all... Fu** Simon Cowell

HANGING BICEP CURL
12kgs 12 reps
17kgs 10 reps
32kgs 6 reps
37kgs 8 reps

CONCENTRATION DB Curl
8kgs 10 reps
10kgs 8 reps, 2 sets

EZ-BAR NEGATIVES
22kgs (to failure)
27kgs (to failure)

2-POINT PRESS UPS
4 reps, 6 reps, 4 reps

OVERHEAD ROPE TRICEP PULL
8.75kgs 12 reps
11.25kgs 12 reps
13.75kgs 8 reps

20 mins pad holding for Carl, 20 mins routine practice

HAPPY EASTER!

Will be interesting to hear an honest appraisal over the next few weeks as to whether they are really worth having or a bit of a gimmick which migrates toward the cupboard under the stairs. Have been thinking about getting one for my aged parentals.

Re:JOURNEY TO LEGS OF A GODDESS MARCH 2009 GOALS ON P.150 - 18 April 2009 13:15
Cheeky beggar Jedi ;-)

Today Carl took me through his evil leg workout... I'm ashamed to say that when he took me outside to do barbell lunges as my last exercise, in shorts, in the cold, I did one set then stormed off inside and refused to finish, I was exhausted, my form was sh1t and I was freezing and worried about injury...  He took my effing and blinding very well

Each set had 60sec rest between sets, it really felt like a lot less!!!

LEG PRESS
50kgs 10 reps warm up
70kgs 10 reps
85kgs 25 reps
70kgs 25 reps, 2 sets

LEG EXTENSIONS with a 2 sec hold at the top
10kgs 25 reps
15kgs 25 reps
12.5kgs 25 reps

FRONT SQUAT ON SMITH MACHINE
20kgs 15 reps, 3 sets

SEATED HAMSTRING CURL with a hold at the bottom
10kgs 25 reps
15kgs 25 reps
12.5kgs 25 reps

STIFF LEG DEADLIFTS
20kgs 15 reps
30kgs 15 reps
35kgs 15 reps, 2 sets

BB LUNGES OUTSIDE
10kgs 2 widths of car park = 40m
QUIT

STAIR CALF RAISES with a pulse at the top
15 reps, 2 sets

Then finished up with about 20minutes sretching... Some chick next to me REALLY annoyed me, Carl quietly informed me I would have to stop glaring at people however, in the gym that I'll be working in...

I didn't get shaky legs, just burny legs...

Re:JOURNEY TO LEGS OF A GODDESS MARCH 2009 GOALS ON P.150 - 20 April 2009 09:25
Leggies were in agony yesterday... I used the Novosonic massager on them but it scared the cat

Decided on a new strategy, am still not ready to give up my weekly cheat yet, I pondered giving it up this weekend just to see what would happen with my weight if I did but by the end of the weekend I was like 'This is silly, I am ENTITLED to A cheat in my off-season, I stay clean ALL WEEK'
So new strategy is thus, I am not having my cheat until Sunday, then it doesn't spiral into a weekend cheat.

So last night me and Carl went to PizzaHut and had cheesy garlic bread, nachos, chicken strips, and a medium meditteranean meats pizza - which is an improvement on what normally eat Am back to normal this morning

Is that normal, normal or just normal for Flick???

Loving the Cheat Strategy.

After the week I've just had, I'm soooo going to have to real in my cheat/treat to maybe one of Liz's lush sounding garlic, onion brocolli curry powder thingies (I know, but hey, it's worth a shot!)

Interesting, just caught up with the leg issues........

Well she was no Liz Kinsella that's for sure! ;-)

She had some elements in her routine, just not quite knitted them together well enough yet... Her evening routine also contained nothing in it, whereas the morning one did...??

'Interesting' may be an accurate description but she did had a tidy little physique that's for sure...

Jedi - I do hope so... I'm preferring my more relaxed attitude to eating, my body seems to be responding well...

Forgot to add, Carl bought me a bicycle to get to work... :-D
Tan will already know this - I learnt to ride a bike for the first time 2 days ago EEK! Went on my lunch break with Carl. Am still currently trying to get used to pavements but I'll get there... :-D

That is so sweet.
Both him buying the bike and you having to learn to ride it.

Had a fantastic weekend at BodyPower... Saw Mrs and Mr G, Kitty n Dave, Welshy, Hififi, SharonH from BNBF Forum, Annies, Truds, JK01 - tons of MT'ers!

I think one of the Annie's got a big group MT pic, if I see it I'll post it up :-) Kitty was missing though GRRRR!

Got a bit of oomph after feeling fat n horrid all weekend - seeing dieting ladies was prob just what I needed.

And I met Phil Heath and am a bit in love now. Carl knows him so we held up the queue talking to him oops... :-/ I also spent my hard earned wages on a signed piccie :-)
So, this morning, trained Arms with Carl, busted my a$$ and managed a record-breaking 16 reps at 60kgs for bench dips, and 32.5kgs on EZ-Bar curl WOOP!!!! Long may the hard work continue!

Check out your monster triceps
...all those bench dips paying off.

Really gutted I couldn't make it with so many people from MT in the same place.
Am ridiculously behind schedule with everything though so am currently in an all work and no play makes jedi a very dull boy situation.

Re:JOURNEY TO LEGS OF A GODDESS MARCH 2009 GOALS ON P.150 - 12 May 2009 13:10
Aww thanks ladies, I had THE coolest weekend :-) Felt like so long since I'd seen everyone and for once I didn't have a diet addled brain so could actually hold conversations about someone else except myself for a change

Carl was made up on the way home... He was like... 'So you're really happy...' like he didn't know  daft apeth!!

I think BodyPower gave me the boot I needed, I'm gonna see how things swing for the rest of the month... Watch this space

Jedi - gutted you weren't there. I think you're prob the only one I've not met now...

I would be lying if I didn't confess to putting my hand in my pocket to perfect that tricep pose - was feeling v.self conscious that day, was hoping some muscle might show somewhere!!! I've been busting my a$$ thinking I made progress on my Shoulders - then I saw Truds, Nicole-Pitcher Scott and that black chick with the blonde hair, blue top and MAMMOTH Shoulders, and wanted to put a cardi on and hide

Just booked train tickets, am DEFINITELY gonig to the Welsh WOOP!!! AnnieU is competing there and I HAVE to go support her for sure

Had day off on Weds and trained Chest y.day with Carl n did 20mins cardio on recumbent bike.

Today trained leggies and did 20mins fitness practice to music (how anyone can do a headstand on a wooden floor is beyond me...) I will clearly have to learn how to hold a headstand instead... :-/

lol @ kitty

Yesterday me and Carl started a new training programme I saw in Muscle & Fitness.

He almost punched me as I was trying to get him doing high volume on upright row tee hee...

The formula for it is as follows:
Pick a weight for each exercise that's 50-75% of your 8-12 rep max
Do as many reps as you can for 20secs
10 secs rest
Repeat for a total of 8 sets per exercise.

We tried it out with Shoulders yesterday and f*ck me, did they burn! I thought it might help improve my endurance for fitness. So we'll do it for a few weeks then switch back to normal, just a nice change.

I was slightly miffed however, that I was having to do Side Lat Raises at 2kg (3kg dumbells had gone walkies) and was actually saying OWWW by my 5th set!!!

LOL, don't you just hate it when you know you can normally lift more. Same with drop sets and no one seems to watch you until you have the smallest weight
