Kitty - Chest's or cheats?! Westy - good to meet you too! Nice posing today - definitely go next month and carry on with that posing! So... went to BNBF London Club today, kindly hosted by Annie and Lee Ottey. Got to see Fi in my shoes, and Welshy try on her first comp bikini (her back looks awsome btw), and got to stand in a line up against the fabulously-in-shape Shane Rayomond. Got some really good posing tips, which I should be able to see the difference with when I start dieting! God I ache! Only did two rounds of quarter-turns and two rounds of compulsories! Left home at 7.15 this morn, and have now got home at 6pm - there's dedication for you!

Re:JOURNEY TO 1st PLACE LADIES PHYSIQUE IN 2010

Well it was tough today... I was actually really emotional! Had a big heart-to-heart, I was 100% honest (which was really really tough), and was lovely to have Carl there with me to listen and support. Consensus was whilst I've gained good size on my top half, I still need more to stop me looking bottom heavy when I diet down, I'm really gonna have to go for it. We've set a weight target of definite U55kgs to be hit for me - needed for NPA as I'd still look teeny as a Heavyweight! So... plan is as follows until Canada on March 1st 1. No leg training 2. 20mins a.m. cardio in workout days (none PWO) 3. No cheat meals (so I've had my last pizza tonight) 4. Food cleaned up as follows: Meal 1 50g Oats, Banana/Grapefruit, Scoop Whey Meal 2 120g Chicken/Tuna, 40g brown rice, tsp oil Meal 3 same as above Meal 4 same as above Meal 5 PWO Shake Meal 6 140g Salmon/Steak, 40g brown rice No more cottage cheese or oatcakes! :-( It's good practise for when I get back and start proper dieting when I already know, no evening carbs and pretty much the same food! So, because no Leg training, split will be as follows 1 Back+Traps 2 Shoulders 3 OFF 4 Chest+Abs 5 Arms CAN'T WAIT!!!!

So is Karen saying you have too much muscle on your legs? Just trying to understand the approach on no leg training.....not even lighter weight, higher reps or not even just leaving out compounds???? LOL, I know it will suit you as I know you don't like training legs

well, sounds like a hard but productive day, and i would say that its been very positive. you already knew legs were ahead of the rest of you. i really liker her plan that shes given you, excited to see you follow it! kitty- from others i have known do similar, it is to really concentrate on bringing the best balance possible, i know she places alot of importance on that. not training legs will allow all the food eaten to go into building the upper body, and a small amount of loss if it happens in the legs for now to focus on balance over out of proportion mass.

kitty Dazc only the case if Flick is carrying excess muscle there and it's not just BF! true! do you think perhaps thats not the case? karen has a very good eye, so i just presumed that must be the case, that come show day she would be bottom heavy, going from where she is now. but then i think you have seen flick recently?

Not knocking Karen and her input at all and no I haven't seen Flick recently which is why I was asking if Karen thought she had too much muscle there. Genuinely just curious . I'm interested in the concept behind the thought/process.

Dazc you're spot on, she was saying if I'm putting all my oomph into recovering after a leg session (which normally takes 3 days for DOMS to go) then I may as well lay off training and use recovery for upper body only. I did say I'd done high reps before and it'd not really yielded much difference. The best results I've had have been through riding my bike. She said she could see the muscle/hardness in my legs when I flex them now, and when dieted down they're still likely to be bigger than my upper bod (mainly because even though I've got width, there's not as much mass there to my Shoulder's Bi's). So I may as well stop training 'em a) so they can stop growing, cos they have been, I've measure them in off-season and b) so I can use recovery time for my upper bod instead. We've tried everything else over the years! Cardio will now be Incline Walking on the treadmill. Just for next 4 weeks, then re-evaluate again post-Canada :-) So a.m. cardio done this morning, then brekkie and clients, now having a nap before Shoulders at 4pm!

You will be fine flick, as long as you trust the person prepping you then there is no problem at all. and of course you have plenty time, so if things need to change you have the time to do it.

Dazc, you only learn through asking questions. This is a new concept to me, I'm not knocking it as I don't understand the reasoning behind it. I'm unsure still (thanks for the explaination Flick) but I'm sure the results will reveal whether it works or not. I see Flick has having a similar general physique to myself (apart from she has a nicer bottom, bitch ). My legs are bigger and better than my upper body but they do carry more fat too. Even though they are bigger now with BF I can still see the outline of the quads but I wouldn't stop training them BUT I've never tried so don't know if what Flick is doing would also work for me I await with baited breath

Kitty when you did stop training your legs (in July I thought you said in your journal) - what was the process behind that? I'm really excited, and looking forward to being able to split arms away from everything else, it should give some added push into my workouts :-) The nice thing is now I can feel what's actually muscle beneath the fat, I'm convinced there's a lot there compared to most females and definitely more than my upperbod (grow you basta** grow!!!) We actually had a chat yesterday about me previously being influcenced by others' opinions and how I can be swayed - I don't feel like that anymore which is great. People change their opinions all the time. In 2008 when I did Ketone, lots of people said "Oh no, don't do that, I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole" - only for same people to now totally endorse it!!! And my now saying 'It's not for me t all'... I think you're all opinionated, especially me ;-) and anyone who's ever competed has something to contribute, so carry on doing so! I think the most important thing is to believe 100% in what you're doing and it'll take you far. I 100% believe in this, and even if it doesn't work, I don't believe it'll set me back either :-) It's nice to know so many are actually reading to be honest!!!! Kits for the record, I've never seen you as bottom heavy at all!!!! Hopefully, dieted down, to my POTENTIAL, I'll end up with proportions similar to yours! Then I can join the pro ranks too!
