I did. And he said that there's no infection on my lungs and I'm showing no other symptoms. The cough is only in my throat (which is swollen). Encouraged to contine with asthma meds and inhaling the Friars Balsam (already doing). I do see his point, and the pathology is for sure pharyngeal inflammation. However, what's causing the inflamation?
Looks like it's a case for Dr James to self treat! Got a few ideas - starting today: I suffer with ulcerative colitis (UC) and when I get bad relapses I have been precribed Prednisolone which did the job nicely. However, there are side and long term effects of Pred which means Drs are reluctant to prescribe it too often. I got some myself last year

. Since before Xmas I've had a bit of a relapse of the UC which has been up and down, but I've been toying with the idea of restaring the Pred myself. Obviously with Monday's escapades I've not had a good tummy anyway, but now that's cleared up I really considered the Pred. I noticed that another medical indication for Pred is upper respiratory tract inflammation - there's my deciding factor - Pred to restart today to take care of both holes!! LOL
Pred is a harsh drug that some people can't tolerate: puffy face, water retention, acne and long term it decalcifies bone. Others feel good on it. Fortunatley I fall into the latter group - huge appetite (ideal after my recent crap appetitie), weight gain (I've lost over half a stone), energy. I will supplement with vit D3 and calcium (additional) and I will keep the treatment short 7 for 5 days, then reduce by 1 pill every 5 days. I do get the acne bad with it; so there's lots of back scrubbing from the Mrs, and the water retention should be kept minimal with dandelion root.
Aiming back to the gym on Saturday.
