Hi Jazz, sorry to ask in your journal but a while back I noticed you were heavily involved in FrankieNY 5x5 thread. Looking back now is it something that worked well for you. I'm thinking of changing to this style of training for for a few months. What's your opinion and results from when you trained that way?

Yep it's a great routine If you've never done that style of training before. I became quite strong quite quickly on it and gain some mass. You need plenty of food and rest though to get the most from it. Having said that the gains don't last for ever. There comes a point where adding weight to the bar every week is difficult. I would do it as written for two 12 week cycles and see how you get on. I've done it a few times in the past and it's worked well. Though I find these days a program with a structured deload is better. The three main routines of his are listed in the thread below... http://www.muscletalk.co....&high=mass+builder The third one you may not have heard of ? Also I recommend any of the Bill Starr Routines, Starting Strength and Stronglifts 5x5 Let me know how you get on :)
