I'm the same as you Fi, we have freeview, I'm trying to work out if I can watch it online or maybe afterwards via some (probably dodgy!) website or other but I've no idea. I want to watch it!

I've given up trying and am watching some Matthew Mc Connaughey thing instead. Perhaps he'll enter a BB comp as part of the plotline. *hopes*

did any of you get to watch it in the end?

I sky+ed it and watched it last week... it was quite informative and kudos to Jodie for putting herself through it all... but can't help but think:

                    a) she gave herself too little time and probably wasted as much muscle as she gained, and

                    b) most people will find the whole thing off-putting, particularly if they're new to the sport and are just thinking about getting into it

point (b) may not be the worst thing as really you have to take it seriously and be prepared to make sacrifices, but people also need to realise that there was NO way she'd have been able to achieve what she did if she didn't have her PT/Nutritional adviser on hand 24/7 and also didn't spend 7/8 hours in the gym! (not sure if the last part is 100% accurate - who knows?!)

She was quite lean to start off with and had a pretty good muscle base having been weight training for over 2 years (at least) so wasn't approaching the task from an average joe on the street angle.

2 things really annoyed me about that show though... first her being so upset over that fella telling her she might not make the grade on stage... I very much doubt he said it in a nasty way and was probably just concerned she'd taken on too much in such a short space of time, and didn't want to see her crushed on stage (I've been there, it's horrid). He was made out to be a real panto villain the poor guy!

Second, using 'bodybuilder' in the title... surely she didn't have enough mass to enter that sort of category?

Confusing, but a great programme all in all and I really like Jodie and her can-do attitude. I read about her years ago in M&F mag and was quite impressed with her physique back then so it's great she's kept up the training and done so well out of it

                      Hi Tara

There was a discussion in the general section about this and with comment from Peter Chown (the "Mr Nasty" not). I know him personally and he's so sweet!!

I do agree she is more figure at the moment, she could have been a little softer and would have been fine on the day. As it is because she was a little too dry, I believe the decision was made to go to physique. I think she did well especially given her history of being a party girl and then turning to the regime and sticking to it when many have fallen off at the first hurdle.

She has great abs and good biceps but I'd like to see a little more lat width, roundness to her shoulders and more definition with better quad sweep to her legs. I also think (and I do believe she has made comment somewhere herself), that she should consider reducing her implants.....hard decision when her career may depend on them as they are!! From a judges perspective I think it throws off her side symmetry. She wouldn't be marked down for it but it will certainly not make her appear as good as she could if they were smaller. She also will not have been marked down for tattoos which was suggested on the show.

I think the biggest misconception has been that she did it in so little time and I've even had someone contact me thinking they can do the same.

One problem I'm noticing is that people outside the sport, ok it's brought it into the public interest however they are repelled by the tan/oil/most muscular grimmace. Responses I've had is "Ughh not attractive but she looked great for the playboy(or whatever the mens magazine was) photoshoot"

Then I point out the stage look isn't permanent, and just for an athletic performance -whereas the photoshoot reflected how she, as a bodybuilder looked most of the time.

I reckon she had to be that way though because she'd not eaten enough over the 12 weeks to build decent muscle... at least she was lean and dehydrated, what she had left stood out.

She placed as highly as she did I think because of her routine... she obviously had help with it, but it was fabulous!  Really good fun to watch and she looked so much better than when she was just doing static poses - I guess it was the showgirl in her coming out :-)

Absolutely... Jordan/Katie/whatevershecallsherself would never train that hard!

Definitely - she had to lift her boobs up to show the top of her abdominals as they're so huge they covered them completely!  I think it was quite a disadvantage at the time

Oh, I didn't remember hearing that, is that what she thought?  I wouldn't have thought that would be the case given how many people have them who take to the stage!

Yes, absolutely, the first I heard about her show was someone posting on the weightloss site I use as a food diary saying "look what she did in 12 weeks"... I was like yes... she did, but she's been weight training for years and she had a LOT of help!

oh, and one more thing I forgot to add... I think it's doubly impressive her achievements since she's a very strict vegetarian!

her PT was worried that she wasn't getting enough protein so tried to get her to eat steamed fish... which she tried because she didn't want to fail - but ended up gagging and not being able to eat it all... she decided in the end she'd rather fail than go against her principles... which I think is pretty admirable really

I actually watched it again last night and I really did feel for her eating the fish!! I thought that shows the real emotional stuff we have to go through, you can be like that without even eating something you don't like. I have to be careful which fish I choose as cod would make me retch like that too. I don't eat red meat and in 2009 actually added steak into my diet. It was weird and I was a little hesitant the first time. Thing is I haven't touched it since! Don't particularly want to.

ahhh, I'm a total carnivore, can't get enough of the stuff and not fussy what haha

put a slow cooker casserole on before I left tonight, it's full of tasty veg and big thick pork rashers, lamb's liver and chunks of steak... can't wait to get back to it after work today!

should eat more fish really, just often forget to, we have salmon about once a week though and nicoise salad when I remember to make it!
