**LOST final season offical thread** SPOILER ALERT

Hi guys,

First off id like to ask those of you who dont like the show, or stopped watching in season 2 and still want to tell those of us who still watch how ****e it is to respectively refrain from such posts.

That out of the way, how much of the forum lot have stuck it out this far? With only 16 episodes to go i can safely say this is the best series ive ever seen.

If theres only a few of us left perhaps this thread serves little purpose lol.

After season 6 ep6 I finally have a theory on it all.

I'll be downloading a few more episodes before i start watching it, as i hate having to watch it week by week....altho i did watch the first episode without my gf knowing muhahaha.

how have you watched 6 episodes? i only have 4....

It is without a doubt the best series I have ever seen on TV.

People think they lost the plot half way through, or even at the beginning, but if you were to go back their are lots of referrances to whats going on now.

It's got a massive religious undertone to it, light vs dark. Jacob and his brother (God & the Devil) Jesus and his disciples....

What's your theory then?

I was wondering the same? 6 episodes?

I need to watch ep 3 and 4 which I'll do later.

I'll be honest, i'm about as receptive to the undertones as Stevie Wonder is to someone 2 inches from his face, but i love Lost!

I love Lost and agree it's the single best program ever on TV.  However, I will not be reading this topic as I'm a Box-Set-Man and will be waiting until later in the year for this!

It's Jacobs brother aka 'The Devil' (imo)
 
Jacob dressed in white, brother dressed in black, white and black rock on the scales, the balance of light and dark, Jacob dead, white rock tossed out to sea, dark / devil / evil has triumphed (for now)
 
Also Siad's reincarnation, almost like being baptised under water to 'drive out the devil', i believe has brought in the devil. Hence the chinese guy wanting to poison him

i have to agree with james on this one, i have the box sets of series 1-5 at home and enjoy watching the whole lot straight through rather than bit by bit on the tv, as suchh ive only seen the biggining episode of s6 on tv but it looks bloody great.

i love lost, i think its great, but it seems to me that theyve gone from rediculous to bizzare to impossible. i cant wait to see how theyre going to end it all. someone somewhere is going to have to get their thinking cap on if they wanna end this in a way that makes even a little bit of sense, haha. should be good though.

So do u reckon the devil's in Siad and Lock?

I am not religious, and obvisouly we can't go too much into it (well not obvious, I actually don't understand why, it's no different to debating anything else)

God and The Devil, apparently are the only two people that can bring dead people back alive (they share the same powers) or Jacob and his brother in Lost.

I think after the miraculous incarnation of Siad the temple people had to determine whether he was incarnated by Jacob or his brother, which is why they did the test. One of the test's being the hot rod that they pressed into his side. Now the Devil lives in burning hell with his hot pitch fork, I believe from their test they would be able to determine who brought him back to life - Jacob or his brother. Notice that we didn't see the bloody wound left by the hot rod? It probably didn't leave one.

I think Siad is Siad for the moment, but instead of being Jacobs child (Gods child) he is Brothers child (Devils child)

Perhaps the island is or was the beginning of mankind, maybe even the garden of edan.

This is all in my opinion of course, and knowing Lost so well now I'll probably be proved totally wrong tonight lol

Still a hell of lot of other questions to be answered though, one of the main one's for this series is which of the 2 alternative realities is reality?  did they land in the airport or back in the jungle!!!

And why in the one they land in do they keep bumping into each other by accident as strangers!?

I love the parallel universe story going on, what would of happened had the plane not crashed, I think it's cracking!
 
I dunno about the parallel universe theory though, a lot of people believe that there are millions of versions of our selfs in different universes making ever so different choices to the ones we make and having different outcomes, I think they're playing on that to a degree.
 
I keep saying to my partner about them bumping into each other is that, whether its on the island or not they're were always destined to cross each others paths...
 
Didn't they all cross each others paths before they got on the plane though? I am sure they did

I loved lost when it first came out however, i seem to be lost in whats going on. Everytime i miss an episode i feel like Im am tuning into a completely different series the next week lol..

I might have to buy all the box sets an start again from season 1 hehe

Watched 1-4 this afternoon. Bloody brilliant - I'm not one for guessing whats going on because I would probably be totally wrong so i'm just looking forward to next episode.

I don't think Jacob, or the other guy are really good, or evil. I think they're just doing things for themselves, acting like children over having the island to themselves. Also why would the MIB(man in black) be another protector of the island(smokey) if he was bad? 

You also see how the island doesn't actually matter in what would've happened, as it's sunken. In other words, Jacob has manipulated people into thinking the island has some sort of significance to what goes on, when really it has no importance to the world. Which is why in Desmond's flash forward(last season, or the one before), the woman was stressing how he 'has' to go to the island. Mad, old cow. It's just a game, really.

MIB is feared by everyone else though, that's why they're in the temple, it's a place where he cannot enter.
 
Looking through your eyes though - MIB is certainly beginning to paint that picture that actually Jacob is a master manipulator, who, not wanting to be on the island alone, recruited the Oceanic lot to 'crash' on the island, giving him company or further company. Then like you say adding some importance to the island thus wanting them to stay / protect it. Where all along MIB want's to free these people from the island and allow them to live the life they're entitled to. Pretty much what he said to James in that cave...
 
Pretty plausible theory really, now I am going to get some ice for my head.
