Lean Bulk Diet Advice Wanted 27 January 2012 13:51 (permalink)
To start off with here are my stats

20 Years old
6 ft 3
14 stone - 90kg
16% body fat

My goal at the moment is to gain muscle whilst losing a small amount of body fat, I know this isn't ideal as many members prefer to bulk and then cut which I will start doing once I have my body fat to around 12%

So far so good, I've lost fat while gained a reasonable bit of muscle, but I know a transformation such as this requires my diet to be spot on, so here is my diet

6am

5 Weetabix, semi skimmed milk,
30g of whey protein 6g of creatine

9:30am
70g of tuna with 4 wholemeal pieces of bread

11am
30g of protein and 6g of creatine

12:30pm
200g of either steak or chicken with salad

4pm
60g of turkey breast on 2 wholemeal pieces of bread

5pm
Train

6:30pm
Post work out shake 30g whey and 6g of creatine

7:30pm
Large amount of fish or a lean meat and vegetables

10:30pm
150g of cottage cheese with 3-4 Ryvitas.

I also have some l glutamine I would like to introduce in my diet,

Looking forward to your feedback,

Just to add the reason there is 18g of creatine is because I have just started doing a loading cycle for a week to get it into my system once this is over I'll be doing 6g a day

What amount of fat should I be aiming for? To be honest sometimes I trade my morning weetabix in for scrambled egg which contains some fats,

Also I am too lazy to try and calculate your calorie intake there.

If bulking I woudl suggest something like a 30/40/30 (40% being carb) macro split for your diet.

As said get good fats in there they are anabolic and a great way to bump calories.

for a male u want to be looking at a good 30/40g of good fats mate
im currently doing a leand bulk i would suggest replacing wholemeal bread with brown rice or sweet potato (much better sources of low GI carbs) i also find that a whey shake with an apple for pre training is good to get some slow releasing carbs and protein in befor training and then post training add around 30g of simple sugars with your whey shake ( gummy bears are my favorite) the simple sugar gets your insulin levels up helping you to absorb more of the protein you have just taken in
            hope this helps

              Really Good advice,

Ill Adjust my diet to include the fats, never had sweet potatoe but going shopping tomorrow so ill add it to the list,

Will 100% add an apple to my pre work out shake, makes sense as sometimes I feel a bit drained, and never new about the simple sugars to help your body absorb the protein so cheers for that mate, as a fellow gummy bear lover thats great news,
