Little IS more 10 November 2009 11:08 (permalink)
I  basically started off doing the typical 3 day split. The gains had started well but slowed down and decided to change my routine to see if I can get my gains back. Because of having little time in the days I could only do a short, sharp routine which ended up like the one below.

Mon

Flat Bench 8x4
Back Squat 8x4
Bent over BB row 8x4

Wed

Shoulder Press 8x4
Close Grip chin 8x4
Deadlift 8x4

Fri

Flat Bench 8x4
Leg Press 8x4
Bent over DB Row 8x4

I've been doing this for 3 weeks and each day I have made progress. Be it in more reps/weight or both. Deff a routine worth a try if you are going through a stagnate period.

Sounds good.  Sometimes back to basics is the way forward if time is precious.  However, I would only do this for 2-3 months or gains may slow as you get used to it.

Solid routine, looks good.  Nice to see a routine without isolation curls & flies etc.!

This is what I have planned. After the gains slow on this routine I'll be switching back to a split. Roll on new year!
