Our local council are generally pretty poor, I could fill pages with tales of how people have reported stuff to them (dumped rubbish , serious eyesores ,nightmare neighbours , dangerous areas / pavements etc.) and generally they either ignore the reports or take 6-12 months to acknowledge them , 12-24 months to act.
....Yet yesterday, within 20 minutes of putting some posters up around town we had a Council official waving her "warrant card" telling us we must remove them or face fines and prosecution for our "ant-social behaviour" offences
Yeah course , we realise it was a bit naughty , but figured we'd get a few days before they get taken down....Ah well.
Interestingly though we put a couple of signs on roundabouts , we are regularly pestered by the council to buy large adverting boards on these roundabouts (Sponsor a roundabout -no one takes them up on this , they are all blank

) I totally see where they'd see this as revenue protection , but even so it is laughable that something that is considered an "anti social behaviour" offence suddenly becomes acceptable and encouraged if you are lining the councils pockets !!
Councils eh ?
