Lou micky Hey Lou, What sort of rep range do you use for your leg work-outs?? Well i've worked out that heavy/low reps etc.. doesn't really work for my legs. Kim got me into high rep training for my lower body. At the moment it's around 4 X 15 - i'm not going any high reps than this just yet.. But I will do as the competition grows closer. Have you ever had a leg work out with Kim Micky? It's just horrendous LOL! The intensity of the work out is just unreal. Hi Lou, No never had the pleasure!!! Have had a few good ones line up though!!!

Hi Lou, this is gonna be a great journal, all the best with it. Love that you do Car park lunges, coleman style! Have you changed anything in your prep this time, or do you work to the 'if it aint broke dont fix it' way. after the sucess you've had?

Most of my prep is similar to my prep for the British. There are a few bits i've changed to make sure my physique is more balanced for the Worlds comp. I think in terms of my training the volume and intensity of my glute training is different now, and works better for me. Everything else is similar.. i've made some slight adjustments to my diet etc.. I have all my prep planned out. I'm meticulous about these things and like it all written down and stuck on my fridge hehe..

Hey welsh! thanks for ur message! xx Well today I have trained quads. Pretty good work out really.... aching already lol. Also did 30 mins of power walking this morning.. I do enjoy going out in the morning for a good walk... clears my head and sets me up for the day. My quad work out looked something like this: 5 X squats 4 X lunges 4 X leg press 4 X Extensions All around 12-15 reps.. not going above that for a while yet because i've been leaning up quite quickly. Tomorrow i'll be training chest

So I think although i'm doing the tall class at the worlds... I might be one of the shorter ones in the class.

Today i'd planned on writing an epic journal entry.. but I actually feel totally exhausted. My partner had to push me through my power walk this morning by riding next to me on his push bike! It helped me keep my pace up. I think as it gets to the end of the week i'm waiting for my day off of training on Sunday. So on the Saturday I feel pretty tired.. Shortly i'll be training bi's and tri's, and then I have another 20 mins of cardio on the stepper. I'm sure after an espresso or two i'll be sorted for training haha.

My training today has been pretty hard going! I train glutes on Monday :) I am learning to love my glute training, as over the last year i've managed to make some good improvements. Most of my work out today consisted of walking lunges, single leg press, wide stance squats, weighted kick backs. I am using fairly low resistance the whole way through. I'm fairly tired after all that ! Also did my power walking this morning before breakfast, and some cardio on the stepper this afternoon. Fairly happy with todays training.. so right now i'm cooking up some turkey - along with a large salad

Gosh Paul - you have some big quads ;-) Yes - I felt the only thing that let me down at the British was my glutes. So i've concentrated on improving them all year! Actually so much lunging I thought I was going to create a Jo L at one point! LOL. But I train them completely seperately now Paul. I also do concentrated kick back work which has helped a lot. I have had some advice from Malika in the past - as she has the best glutes in the business!
