haha.. cheers guys!! i couldnt post back so quick as i was wipin away my tears from the sheer joy of having friends again :-) DV.. yeh im only hang cleanin.. i know i prob should do full cleans, but im doin like 3 types of deadlift a wk, just think it would be a biut much for the lower back... to be honest tho, hang cleans, imo, are just as hard, havin to exert the force through a shorter movement with less muscles bein used... if that makes sense!!?? obviously full cleans are tough and all over body movement, but i like the hang cleans for upper back and trap strength :) seriously tho guys.... THANKYOU :-)

lol DV u cracked me up lew, u might think this is strange but hang cleans are harder for me than full cleans , the short ROM just makes me exert more force.

I.B- in the words of Pato Banton- ' Baby come back.....' yeh, i was in distress but i am now happy to see even more posts as i log in on this new day!! :-) Dyskee- yeh i find em tough... u have to try exert prety much the same force in to the movement, with a shorter range of motion, using mainly only ur upper half.. whereas cleans ionvolve the legs too.. but obviously, full cleans are hard as f*ck too!!

i'll be back in this section with my own journal after my show when i aim to bulk up for a year. hang cleans are a good exercise still, less involving than full cleans but less full body benefit. its all dependant on your goal

exactly mate.. like i said to DV too... i will be doing that many varients of the deadlift durin the week, plus squats, i just think full cleans would overload the lower back...which at the moment is not in great nick, seemed to have done a bit of damage to it :-( will be good to see a journal back in here dude!! :-)

Fair play, mate, all that DLing seems like a valid reason. Don't think my arm strain would take a hang clean without giving me some serious feedback

You're gonna have to get used to me over the next few weeks asking WTF half of these exercises are.... pyramid DL? FS looks solid and those 1 arm SLDL must have been a weird one

don't agree with all this one arm stuff cos of your bad back mate ..when your lifts start getting heavy you will find it places more stress on your lower back. I tried all that stuff years ago when books like Dinosaur Training came out and if I'm honest .. it's gash. People just bring this stuff out again a few years later like it's a new discovery and it's all just a bit gimmicky IMO. If you can do front squats then you can use both arms to lift - I have spoken!!!

haha... i need to work on some stuff unilaterally tho fella.. i have a definate weakness in my left side of my lower body.. this dodgy back at the mo is only affecting my left leg, so i need t bring it up t scratch t be honest :-( DV- the pyramid deads are pretty cool.. like doin a dead lift stood on 2 platforms holdin a dumbell between my legs and just squattin down and back up again... its all new to me so obviously the next week or so will be just findin my feet with it but its makin trainin pretty enjoyable.. not happy wi that squats tho... feelin v weak on them :-(

Being off sucks doesn't it...? I tend to find I still suffer a good month or 2 post PCT then it all starts clicking back into place.... usually around the time I have started to accept that I won't be as strong as I was and adjust my loading and volume accordingly (or is it around the time I think fcuk it and go back on again, I forget LOL)

u not get a student loan in egypt mate? for uni? we ahve to pay over 3 grand a yr in tuitioon fees, so we get that covered by the student finance company, which we then have to start payin back when we are workin full time and have started earnin a certain wage.. we also get a maintenance loan which is for us to spend on food, rent etc etc that usually around £3300.. we also have to pay this back when we are working and earnin a certain amount! so when i graduate i'll owe around £20k in student fees etc...NICE :-(

mate, overseas students can get non repayable grants over here too.. so not only get a loan, but also get an extra 3-4k on top of that which u dont have t pay back... however tuition fees are a fair bi more for overseas students.. u pay 32k a yr?????????????????????????????????????? jesus.. but u live at home tho yeh? so at least u save money on rent and bills??!! mate u should definately look into comin over here tho.. i would have loved to do a yr away at a uni abroad...

just f*ckin written out todays session and it crashed :-( 1 arm deads- 65kx4 70kx4x4 pullups BWx8x5 sets BWx7 Hise shrugs 70kx20x2 sets 80kx20x2 sets DB rows 44kx5x5 sets Seated row- 87kx12x2 sets good session today. weight up on all lifts, but my dipping belt broke so ccouldnt do weighted chins, had to make do with higher reps of BW stuff.. lovin the 1 arm deads as well.. can feel them really workin my obliques too which is nice :-), and the hise shrugs are cool too.. dropped dimmel deads today in favour for seated row, which i'll do every other week as im doin a lot of dead variations in the week and not much rowing!

cheers DV.. yeh definately thinkin about just buyin it all next week.. startin in about a month or so!! soooo sooo tempted!!!!!!!!! o.. and in case anyone was wonderin why im only DB rowing 44's, im really tryin t nail form with these at the moment rather than 'jerk' up a big hefty dumbell... went clothes shoppin yesterday and they had some fyunky mirrors which allowed me to see my back :-), and i noticed how my middle inner portion of my back is lackin slightly :-P, so im lookin to try and bring it up a tad!!! haha..

If the middle part of your back is lacking I'm sure all the funny DL business will hit it. Have you tried DB rows laying face down on a bench. That makes you realise what strict rows are about I can tell you.

i was doin them with a BB a while back mate and it was just an arse settin the bench up on the boxes to make sure i was high enough off the ground...but yeh i fancy doin them with a DB instead.. much prefer DB rows to any kind of BB row... although i am a fan of the odd Tbar row now and again..

I find it in my abs, especially as I do no direct ab work nowadays, but when I use our hammer row thing, it has a front pad that pulls into my abs, I have DOMS in my abs for days
