Well I'm thinking 3 months on, 3-4 off then back on something for the summer maybe.

If cash is tight just keep it simple (no need to do otherwise anyway IMO) even just straight test, you'll still get gains coming on and who cares if you don't stack on 7lbs of water in wks 1 and 2. I much prefer slower steadier cycles now rather than hitting the ground at full sprint from day 1

haha...
im going to be looking into the use of a technology called KNX.. which is that 'intelligent' technology that can control ur home/ building from one central computer..makes heating and lighting more efficient as it can be programmed to come on when someone walks in a room etc, reach a certain tmp level and sustain it as long as its needed etc... so much literature to go thru tho its gonna be a hefty assignment!! but i want a good grade so gonna work my t1ts off...

I was chatting to a guy at my work who's involved with new housing and 'green' issues and apparently some houses nowadays can generate all the heat they need for the whole house just from the presence of people (even just pets) in it. Mental!

Re:2009 MRM- TESTify.. - 20 October 2009 19:49
anyway, today-

did 30 mins on the bike
15 mins on the cross trainer

then moved on to do some calf work, single leg calf raises- few supersets with stretch etc
then did some setaed calf raise for a few sets, and finished with some cable oblique twists..

had a good chat as soon as i got in the gym too..
a guy stopped me who ive never chatted with before sayin how he has watched me train and was impressed with with the way i train etc.. said how i was in good nick and should think about competing if it was what i wanted t do.. :-)
told me how he had done 4 shows in the past and loved it .. was cool, nice little ego boost too.
t'is the little things that count, and not much better than a random stranger stoppin u to complement u on somehtin :-)

Re:2009 MRM- TESTify.. - 20 October 2009 19:59
It's great isn't it... I had a few playing 'guess DVs BF%' the other day, no idea why, but they were all adamant I was 8-10% (which I feel is a tad generous). Then, like you, had someone asking me about competing.

But yeah, great ego stroke that even tho at 6'1 and 15'7 I'm a way off being able to hold my own on the stage but the thought was nice .

No-one ever asks if I've done PL or SM tho PMSL

I've been known to approach people, who like you, choose some of the less obvious exercise options (one arm stuff, or OH squats etc). Just cool to see why they do it and so on..... it also repays the compliment of having someone recognise your endeavours

yeh.. was literally as i walked in.. got my water and he just asked how it was goin, how trainin was etc etc.. got into a little chat with him about competing and he was tellin me about the shows up here in the north east... v nice guy and yeh kinda makes the effort worthwhile when someone acknowledges the hard workl u put in..

Re:2009 MRM- TESTify.. - 21 October 2009 21:36
late session today-

Pullups-
+15kx6* 3 sets

1 Arm Deads-
75kx6* 3 sets

OHPP-
95kx6
95kx5* 2 sets -- missed out on the 6th on both sets :-(

assistance work-

DB lat raises-
12kDB's x 15reps * 2 sets

DB shrugs-
38kDB's x 25reps * 2 sets

Lying Ham Curls-
60kx15
67kx8

good session today. weights up again and almost all reps achieved.. only missed out on the OHPP so will stick 95k next week too and try and get all 6..
feel good tho.. im startin t feel/ look almost as big as i was when on cycle, i think this may be down to slightly improved condition tho from the cardio.. im likin it tho, as the cardio is allowing me to eat a bit more carbs during the day and im not feeling bloated or looking fat either :-)

Trimming up the old waistline does wonders for creating the illusion of size. Even now at 1.5st under my cycle weight I'm looking better.... until I put a jumper on which then looks big on me LOL.

Still solid on the PP but alas I can't feel too sorry for you about missing the 6th rep of 95kg ya fooker

What the hell are you doing training at this time of night tho.... madness! I've just finished running around a bball court and feel ready to drop, no way could I hit the weights.

went to the gym at about 7.30... my mate who i train with was in warringotn on business all day and dint get back til late so just waited for him.. :-(
im not too worried about missin the 6th reps :-P, will just have t make sure i get them next week..
thats the thing, im not too far off cycle weight, definately a good 1/2 st down at least.. but condition is gettin good... not ur kind of condition, but getting there..... eventually :-)

The thing with breaking beyond the 5 reps mark, especially for a few sets, is that I find the other variables start to play more of a role.... such as hydration, fatigue, dietry energy etc. If you are just banging out 2 or 3 you either have the strength or not I find (at my level anyway LOL) there's little more to it.

Due to water retension when on AAS, you might be back at your "true" cycle weight now mate but with less BF% hence looking bigger, also it's not like strength is exactly suffering is it lol

Re:2009 MRM- TESTify.. - 22 October 2009 12:19
goals-- hmmmmm... mine seem t change quite often to be honest mate.. but at the moment im following a basic routine t help lay some mass down and build strength up again to my 'on cycle' weights.. but im seriously thinkin about doin a show next yr, maybe mid summer time..
im about 6-7 wks post pct and strength is nicely on the increase again..
but, best lifts to date are,

back squat- 180x2(v old PB)
front squat- 160x1
bench- 170x2
OHP (strict)- 110k
OHP(push press) 120k
deads- 220( very old PB)

i only front squat these days so havent really tried a heavy back squat for a while..
...

my split at the moment is-

monday-
bench
front squat
DB row
and some assistance work and arm work

tuesday- cardio (45 mins), ABS, calves

wednesday-
deads (1 arm)
chins
OHPP
assistance work

thursday- cardio (45 mins) ABS, calves

friday-
hang cleans
Weighted parallel bar dips
lunges
assistance work and arm work

weekends free, but i may start goin sswimmin on a saturday morning t help with flexibility.. :-)

hope that helps dude.. :-)

but yeh, im just takin the 3x6 balls to the wall.. eatin well and resting well, and with the cardio, i really think it is helpin.. like i said, at times, i look bigger and feel bigger (and almost as strong) as i did on cycle..
but yeh the volume isnt that high is it!!?? haha..crazy how it can work like that :-)

i agree in part, abs do get trained with most exercises... i feel them getting ragged when i do standing tricep pushdowns as the torso struggles to remain upright as it naturally wants to crunch forward.

i'm contemplating adding in ab workouts for the offseason as whilst my abs are there and coming through more, i do feel thicker and more dense abs provide more benefits than cons

yeh i ca agree with that dude..
i seem to suffer/ benefit?? from havin fairly thinck absa nyway, so i try not to train them too much.. makes my waist pretty thick and trunk like!! ha..
but yeh, if u ever do straight arm pulldowns for the lats, that proper cains the abs too..

I'm quite lucky with my abs. I naturally have that deep seperation between them so rarely need to do anything 'cosmetic' for them. So long as they are functionally strong I'm all good.

Agree, pullovers, pushdowns you certainly 'feel' them working there.

today-

Lunges-
67.5kx6 * 3 sets

Hang cleans-
72.5kx6 * 3 sets

Dips-
+26k DBx10 * 5 sets

Arm superset-
DB hammers/ Straight bar pushdowns
30kx10 / 91k (stack)x10 * 3 sets

good sessoin today.. left the assistance stuff out.. quads have taken a beating this week and shoulder joints feelin a tad uneasy so left it there.. but felt great anyway.. really enjoying this routine.. although i konw i will have t switch the frequency down for a wk every now and again..
but next week is my last week of the gym, then im off t berlin for a wk on the 1st now, so will have a nice break from it then and be roaring to go when i get back :-)

feelin and lookin good tho so im v happy with the progress...

gonna go back a few pages and tally up progress made over the last month will try do this every month t see how im gettin on..

Re:2009 MRM- TESTify.. - 23 October 2009 18:31
ok so from roughly 4 wks ago stats were

INCLINE BENCH-110k x 6 * 3 sets
FRONT SQUAT- 110k x 6 * 3 sets
1 ARM DEADS-65k x 6 * 3 sets
OHPP- 85k x 6 * 3 sets

only really gonna worry about these lifts.. the others are goin up to, but theyre not as important :-)

and now we are on-
INCLINE BENCH-120K
FRONT SQUATS-WILL BE 120K ON MONDAY
1 ARM DEADS-75K
OHPP-95K

so yeh, thats 10k in a month on the big lifts.. i know the startin point i 'started' on was a tad lower than what i now i could have done.. but takin a step back to go 2 ahead has worked and kept me focussed and done wonders my motivation :-)

haha..
yeh seems to be goin wel mate.. im making steady progress wk on wk, so whether or not i have actually got 10kg strgoner in that time or not, the progress is every wk, im hitting the desired target for reps so it keeps me happy and motivated..
there'll be a time soon tho when the weights stop goin up 2.5 every wk, and i'll been switching my aim to improving on the reps from the previous wk..
ended up goin out for a few drinks last night, which turned into a night out :-(
so not training today, will be in tomorro to frioday tho.. but away to berlion on sunday, so have t have a good wk :-)
