the holland and barrett one isnt pure Acai berry mate. i did a bit of research first cos a few things i found were that companies were selling it as '500mg', yet the ratio was like 4:1 or something, so there was probs like 125mg in it. i got mine from healthspark. its pure acai berry, 500mg, £17 for 120 caps.. heres the link mate and ur in luck cos theyre havin a march sale.. acai berry

Did someone say something But assuming my leg and adductor are OK tomorrow I will be DLing DOH with no straps! I was about to order that Acai stuff then just remembered I've got to get L-Glut and whey, plus it's the Mrs 40th, and I've just wasted £20 on ebay getting various bits for my boy so I'm not sure I'll have even a spare £15 this month. I have favourited the link tho so hopefully I'll remember at the end of the month if I have some spare cash

no wories at all fella.. yeh was a shame with the ex.. great girl.. seein her tonight tho. me and some mates are goin to see annie mac play her radio 1 set live in town so i invited her along.. no point in stopping ourselves from havin a good friendship as shes a crackin girl and great to be around.. dyskee- yeh its the i, bodybuilder thing. but im not following the routine he outlined.. too many supersets which would have me running all over the gym and just wouldnt be feasible wat so ever. but im puttin the theory of training submaximal weights 'explosively' to the test and it seems to be working. strength is on the increase and the workouts are real enjoyable. although i do think that musckle endurance will suffer as im rarely going above 3 reps. haah.. ur right, there's a lot of info on the site, but the videos make it so much easier to follow and the 'theory' itself is very simple once u see it put into practice. just another way of skinning a cat really..

What are 'Power Upright Rows'? Seeing people do regular upright rows makes me shudder (bad shoulder history), so to me 'power' upright rows just sound insane!

Almost a hang clean then? I'd imagine the added leg drive would actually take take a little stress off the shoulders - altho you would obviously have more weight to compensate tho.

well yeh, more weight, plus i try hold the bar at the top of the movement for a second, which is quite difficult when powering it up :-) does seem to take a little stress off the shoulders to be honest..

Re: RE: Makin Moves The MAX-OT Way...

ok, today- Incline Rack bench- 3's (done in singles) 10s rest between each. 105kx3 115kx3 125kx3 -- up 5k on each set. Bench-1, 3, 1, 3, 1, 3, max 125x1, 3 135x1, 3 145x1, 1+ 2 spotted. too heavy, however up 5k on the first 2 sets so overall load increase this week :-) 105x12 - up 5k on last week here for same reps. Seated DB shoulder press- 1, 3, 1, 3- max 36x1, 3 44x1, 3 32x11 Power upright rows **supersetted** DB deadstop lateral raise 50 x 5 // 12k DB's x 5 * 3 sets 55x5 60x5 finished with some pushdowns. good session. would have really liked the 145k bench, however, i went heavier on inclines, and moved the pins down a notch so incorporated more chest in it, and overall load was increased on the bench so all wasnt lost :-) had a think over the weekend. and im thinkin id like to give a powerlifting comp a go in the near future. probably something raw as im not shelling out on a bench shirt and squat suit etc etc. i know ive said something along these lines before, but i really fancy it.. not sure when but i mean my routine at the mo is veyr much strength oriented also so no need to switch it up yet. but when i do, was thinkin of something like Back squats bottom position (from pins) front squats some accessory lifts Bench Incline bench work Some form of upper back row Deads good mornings ham curls OHPP or strict press CGBP Chins/ pull ups some curls and pushdowns will be thrown in on the upper days too. anyway, really quite fancy it so will see what happens. plus i really wanna get back into deadlifting again, and i really wanna get myu back squat up, plus it will force me to start stretching again.

Well there are plenty of guys round here who know their onions when it comes to PLing mate. You've definately got something when it comes to strength so with something truely focussed towards that goal I'm sure you would do well

cheers dude.. im just so inconsistent with my goals, they change, and my mind changes on what i want from trainin etc..i'd really love t give it a go sometime.. or even do a small comp like the few that have been goin on recently from here. but yeh, i think progress a bit better with strength gains so i should really concentrate on this i reckon.

That's where some complete goal orientated structure in your trainnig might help - it will keep you focussed on the target. You'll still have periodisation where slightly vary methodologies are used but together with input from someone prepping for the same thing I'm sure you'd last the distance

hope so mate.. having chekced out the PLers on here, most seem to do some higher rep work after anyway, so that would keep me 'sane' in terms of the BBing aspect of training.

Yeah, essentially you do lower rep but can be fairly high volume wise for your main lifts, but the supplementary work usually has a very different structure to it. I think you'd be suprised how much the PLing can still help physique wise tho.

yeh totally. i think i f i throw in some Oly lifts as well it can seriously help pack on a bit of dense mass which is what id like. was thinkin with regards to the routine of going for Wendler's 5/3/1, and sticking to the format he lays out. still training submaximal weights, then obviously if i were to do a comp, would just change the perdiodization up to train with weights closer to my max in the weeks running up to it.

no reason why you cant do both over a couple of years mate, all training makes you bigger, all training makes you stronger. the amount of volume/reps and percentage of max just tips the balance one way or the other a bit

well, it warms my heart to know that ive been missed :-) my laptop contracted a virus, pretty hefty, cost me £125 for the pleasure of fixin it, yet they managed to lose all my data so it has been back in for a 'data recovery', from which they have found 'most' of my data. sh1tty time tho as i have needed my laptop fopr my dissertation, so have managed to get an extension. anyway, trainig is goin well still have recorded all of my sessions in my notebook but cant be arsed to put them all on here. will be abck in gym tomorro. had monday and today off. still training the same split as i was prior to my absense, just some higher reps on some exercises, and using the 5/3/1 system on the major lifts. still also training submaximal weights, around 10kg off max weight for each rep range.
