jedi I think I do secretly want to stand up there in a lycra singlet though. Not lift anything just stand there in my lycra singlet. That's precisely the reason I want to get into PL

Darth Darth How do you feel about Sith Lords? Well, you seem like a first rate chap and everything but ...if you think of Darth Sidious, Darth Maul and Darth Vader then it isn't exactly a boyband line up for looks is it? To be fair, I definitely have more in common with that lumpy lineup than I do the blonde locks and vacant stares of Skywalker and Kenobi. Bad boys for the win. Except in Star Wars ........where they lose.

jedi James The anti-gliadin antibody test is not relaiable at all. But the rectal biopsy is. Have you had this? What? No? What? Ouch. No, I've not had that and unless aliens with advanced sedation techniques and tractor beams and a mother ship and an irresistible female form operating some kind of honey trap type situation arises, I think it fairly safe to assume I wont be. Seriously though, I hadn't heard of that, the only biopsy that was mentioned was going to be entering from the other end in the form of an endoscope. Having had a couple of those already I can't say the prospect is any more appealing than the aliens and their an@l probe The offical clinical way of confirming coeliac disease is only through rectal biopsy to assess villi destruction. Really a doctor can't prescribe gluten free items without this (although they do). A rectal biospy isn't that bad, unless of course the doctor says 'look, no hands!' LOL James When you are completely asymptomatic from the gluten enteropathy, you may find that you can tolerate small amounts of lactose again. If you exlcude gluten in its entirity after a few months, you should have full recovery. Of all the GI diseases, this one is 100% treatable in 99% cases. I do feel generally better but not quite as good as I'd hoped I would be by this stage (8 months gluten free). Strangely I can already tolerate some dairy produce but am still getting problems with lots of the other issues such as the herpetiformis threatening to flare up and neuropathies and immune problems. Have been advised patience is the key and it's a consequence of going untreated for so long. Apparently, it could be up to two years really and even then some of the neuropathic damage might be for keeps. Bit of a b@llache (sometimes literally) but, again, it could be worse, as you say there are other GI problems which could be a lot worse. Your Crohns for instance. 8 months should show significant improvement, but it may be 18-24 before complete abscence of symptoms. At least coeliac disease is treatable. (I have ulcerative colitis - but only fairly mild compared to some people).

So when are you going to schedule in some slightly lighter/lower volume/deloading sessions to give yourself a break from that maniacal volume stuff you do? I want exact dates and times!

Really a doctor can't prescribe gluten free items without this (although they do). I'm not on any prescribed gluten free, I don't really miss the bread and I'm making a decent fist of baking with rice blend flours. I am fairly pleased with how the Doc is handling things to be fair; it hasn't been easy for them either trying to get to the bottom of all my weird, atypical symptoms over the last couple of years. I am on a few meds for the secondary symptoms and I dread another flare-up of the herpetiformis. I only had a couple of bad patches; on the kuckles of my big toes and on the back of my elbows but it was not pleasant, an intense burning/itching sensation.

You could come to a PL meet in lyca and stand in the background and hence get in some pics? What height and weight are you currently?

No, no, no that wont do I want the stage to myself, the roar of the crowd, the flash bulbs popping ...it would only be the actual lifting the weight bit I might need to let one or two others join in I'm 5' 9" mate and seem to be pretty stable at 12stone 7lb for the last couple of weeks.

Hazel An artist, interesting job but what sort of artist? I'm a painter. One room, two coats £400. No I really am a painter but not that sort. It's a bit more of an industrial process than you might think though. I paint in hard lacquer which I build up in lots of layers which are then scraped and polished to give a glass-like/marble finish. I really like the effect, the trouble is, it makes it very labour intensive. In turn, this means they are err not cheap

How many tea breaks per room are required? You did an exhibition recently, was that just watching paint dry? Have you seen Star Wars the musical? Prompted by the google ads on this page!

jedi AWG You train at Loughborough Lesuire center, which I know is crap....when are you going to move to a man's gym? Not sure why everyone is so down on the Leisure Centre? I'm squatting, benching, deadlifting more whilst training here than I have anywhere else. Admittedly, the dumbbell selection is a bit sub-optimal ...not least because they are generally strewn across the floor in mis-matched pairs Struggling to think of anything I'm really missing out on and I certainly prefer the errr scenery. well it's not bad really, and I have to admit it is value for money, I haven't been in 2 years so I don't know if they have added anything to it. I did like paying a vist to the sauna and pool now and then, plus it got me use of the Mountsorrel leisure center which is closer to my house. and yes, the scenery is much better then the one I'm used to at my place new question, Your Favourite Boy Band?

Have you got any pics of your work, mate. I'm sure the 2D nature of a PC screen won't really portray them at their best but I'd be interested to see what you do

Hazel How many tea breaks per room are required? You did an exhibition recently, was that just watching paint dry? Have you seen Star Wars the musical? Prompted by the google ads on this page! As a representative of Healthy Action I would expect you to maintain my hydration at optimum levels no matter how many rooms were involved The exhibition was pretty busy actually, averaging over a hundred people a day into the gallery. So, never a dull moment. I'll try and post some pics in answer to DirtyVest below. Star Wars the musical? Shudder. I might as well admit at this point. Now steady yourself for a shock folks.... The name 'jedi' isn't solely a product of the Star Wars movies I was actually a Jed long before I became a jedi. It evolved into 'jedi' after rugby playing err exploits

AWG well it's not bad really, and I have to admit it is value for money, I haven't been in 2 years so I don't know if they have added anything to it. No. No they have not. I am lying actually as we recently got a new Oly bar. Very shiny. Cr@p. But very shiny ...and it is at least straight unlike the one it is replacing. There is rumoured to be a complete set of dumbbells milling about the system somewhere although I will believe that when I see it. They really need to fill in some of the gaps in the range though plus some 40's or heavier would be nice. They also really need a few more 20 plates. Let me know if you want to train in sometime. AWG new question, Your Favourite Boy Band? That's easy no-one has ever, nor could ever top this performance.

Darth Darth Strangely enough in real life I have been told that I look like the Olympic Downhill Skiing Champion, Didier Defago, so maybe I should change my name to Darth Didier - or perhaps not. What were your best times as a sprinter? Liking the relative obscurity of your lookey-likey. Not well known enough to make your day to day living a hassle but probably well known enough to come in handy off piste PB's 100m: 10.9 (hand-held...but I ran it a few times) 200m: 21.3 Not bad but not brilliant. In some ways I ran better times at age groups; I ran 12.3 as a 13yr old and a sub 25s 200m that year as well. Which were English Schools qualifying times ...I found out after the English Schools Championships. I made decent progression over the next 3 school years despite having a pretty serious injury but I always seemed to be getting beaten by 'lads' with a more beard than I've got now The Sub 11 second clockings were done by age 20 and were probably a better sign that I should stick with things than I thought at the time. I was never the best at training for athletics either as I played a lot of different sports. Easy to look back and think I could've gone a bit quicker but I wouldn't have wanted to miss the other sporting highlights, so it was what it was I guess.

I like the idea of not being able to reproduce the work via prints or photographs etc and that to truly experience it you have to experience it directly. Having said that.......this has proved a massive b@llache I am trying to get galleries, collectors and corporate entities interested in this as a concept and their usual response is; "Sounds interesting, do you have any photographs of your work?" Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh Here are a couple from the recent exhibition They don't really do the pieces justice to be honest.

Your 200 time is particularly impressive - given the effects of having to make allowances for a bend, you must have been able to hold onto your 100 speed pretty well. You could have had some good battles with the top women, like Flo Jo, Koch, Ashford and Gohr!
