Awesome read mate, love the depth in your posts, looking at doing something similar in terms of getting my bodyfat down then slowly putting on lean muscle by tweaking my diet. The before and after cutting are a great inspiration!

Cheers mate, nice to know to people are reading it and enjoying it. I bore my wife to tears when I'm cutting, talking about diet and cardio, so it's nice to have somewhere to get it all off my chest!

About 45/46 mins cardio this morning. I say about because I forgot to put my iPhone on charge last night so no music or GPS logging today. I felt much lighter and free without the bulky iPhone strapped to my arm and headphones dropping out of my ears every 2 minutes, but it was boring without music or the woman shouting my time and distance in my ear! Day off work today as the wife has a hospital appointment then we're off shopping. So no training today. I'll try to fit the legs and bi's session in over the weekend but if not I'll do it Monday as I have 5 days to train next week. Then hopefully a final session next Sunday.

Of course mate. Just got to figure out when is best to take them as were out for a meal friday night so I might not quite look my best. Sunday just before we go will no doubt be the day. Although I won't post them til I'm home and I'll try and take a few there with a tan!

Weigh in day - 12st 0lbs - thats another 3lbs off which is great news! Plus, I'm only 1lb off my previous 2 cuts finishing weights which was 11st 13lbs. So I should at least get under that which was always my goal when we booked this holiday. I'm only really 8lbs off my actual goal weight, so I should hit that easy enough within 4 - 6 weeks after the holiday. We're going to a wedding at the end of July which is 5 or 6 weeks after our holiday. I've decided this will mark the end of my cut. The wedding is meaningless (I'll be in a suit), but it's just a date to pick to call a halt to things, otherwise I could end up cutting forever. It's also a set target that I can't move so it's something good to pick. However I look at the end of July is the best condition I'll get in this year. THen it's staying lean for the rest of the year and cut even better the year after. Back to my current condition........ whilst weight has been on track, I've not been too happy with what I see in the mirror. Thats until we went to bed late last night and I saw myself in the mirror! See..... in past cuts I've always tracked progress in our bedroom mirror when it's dropped dark so the light casts all the right shadows. This is where I took all my pics and stuff. But at this time of year it's still slightly light when we go to bed so I'm not getting that same picture. Last night we went late and it was dark.......... and I looked great. Abs out, chest split.... spot on. I know this is not how I look day to day, but it's the gauge I use. Chances are when I take some finishing pics it won't be dark, but hopefully with the curtains drawn and the light on, I'll get the same effect. I didn't do any cardio this morning (at the wifes request!! Grrr!), so I'm keeping it protein only all day til our evening meal. Tonight it's a chilli chicken dish and the sauce is quite high in cals. I'll try to not put much sauce on my plate and just eat the chicken. I'm tempted to stay carb free tomorrow, but it's more hassle than it's worth so I'll just be eating some rice with my curry and maybe a small bit of dessert. I've just got to hammer all 5 days weights sessions next week to make up for missing sessions last week.

Change of plan yesterday. We ended up going to a BBQ for a few hours. I was on the booze but only drank vodka and diet coke. I was outside with my mate while he cooked so I wasn't tempted by all the bread, pasta, crisps as they were inside. I just ate meat and didn't have too much. I feel a bit rough this morning and didn't even attempt any cardio. I also couldn't face any eggs and was sooo tempted to have carbs but I've just had some cheese instead. Crap protein source I know, but it's better than some of the things I was getting tempted with! I've had a couple of sunbeds so far and I caught the sun a fair bit yesterday so I'm looking much better today! I also had my holiday haircut yesterday and it was desperate for cutting (went ages without a cut for no real reason!), so I'm feeling good about myself at the minute.

I've not been drinking much at all lately so it hit me! Feel like I've over done it a bit today but nothing too crazy. My wife got up late and wanted pancakes making so I just had one of them. Then curry + rice plus a small dessert. Then a bacon sandwich followed by some crackers with peanut butter. I've had a couple of chocolates too. The weather looks crap but I'll be out running this week no matter what. It might be quite nice in the rain, but it does mean I won't have music as I don't want to risk the iPhone getting wet.

Bah, no cardio this morning! I almost knew I wouldn't make it when I went to bed. I was sooooo tired yesterday but then couldn't sleep. My weekly diet is pretty spot on anyway but I'll make an effort to reduce calories today to compensate. So it was egg whites for breakfast and my tuna and chicken meals only have a bit of yogurt with them anyway. Then I just need to control myself tonight and skip the snacks of cheese or peanut butter that I usually allow myself. Then hammer cardio from now til the holiday. It's forcast rain all week but sods law it was fine this morning. Serves me right and I bet I'll get wet the rest of the week!

I forgot to mention I weighed myself this morning to see how the carbs affected me. 3lb on so nothing too bad. Legs + Bi's WEEK 4 Leg press 3 x 15 100kg for all Ham curl 3 x 8 65kg for all Seated calf 3 x 8 80kg for all + drop sets DB curl 3 x 10 16kg for all Preacher curl 3 x 10 20kg for all Leg session was just going through the motions. I daren't squat for fear of DOMs wrecking my last week of cardio. I'm afraid to say I gained a bit of size on my legs over the winter, but due to poor leg sessions on this cut and maybe all the running....... they're shrinking a bit. Not much I can do and I don't really care that much to be honest. That'll be my last leg session now til after the holiday I reckon. Shoulders tomorrow, back and a bit more bi's on Weds, chest + tri's on thurs, and maybe a bit of everything on Friday. Then I really want to nip in on Sunday to do a bit of everything for some pump! I might take my finishing pics on Thursday night after my chest session. We'll see.

46 mins cardio this morning in the rain. Very nearly didn't go as I had a shocking nights sleep and could hear the rain banging down. The rain wasn't too heavy and didn't bother me too much. The only issues was I was red hot as I put all my clobber on (wooley hat, tracky bottoms, top!) and I didn't take my iPhone so no music. Plus my legs were heavy after yesterdays session. I reckon tomorrow will be my last run before the holiday. My wife is working Thurs + Fri this week so it's back on the mini stepper again. We're out for a meal Friday night and the little one is sleeping out, so the lay in is too good a chance to miss! Then she's out Saturday night and I've got my mates round to watch the England match so I won't be doing anything Sunday morning either.

Shoulders WEEK 5 Hammer press 3 x 10 70kg, 70kg, 60kg Military press 2 x 10 35kg for both Side raises 2 x 12 8kg for both Front plate raise 2 x 12 10kg for both Rear flies 2 x 12 8kg for both Plate shrugs 3 x 10 25kg for all Nice little session. Obviously, I'm not trying to up any weights at the minute and I'm happy just to lift what I did last week. This will be different when I carry on cutting after the holiday, but when calories are as low as they are they minute, I'm just happy to keep my lifts up.

What a disaster this morning!!!!! My alarm went off for cardio but I must have turned it off instead of hitting snooze because I woke up an hour later and it was 10 minutes later than the time I get up for work if I'm not doing cardio!!! I was really mad with myself. I'm extremely tired this week, but I would've dragged myself round this morning for the last push this week! Breakfast was egg whites to compensate and was shovelled down in a massive rush as I was late. I've just got to try to keep calories low today to compensate. On a positive note, I was checking myself out in the mirror last night and I looked the best I've ever looked. The fact that I've got a bit of a tan helps and so did the lighting in our bedroom. I'm almost as lean as I was on my last 2 cuts (and I'm sure I'll be there by Sunday), but I feel like I'm definitely carrying a bit more mass this year. Only a bit, but it's there. I'm still toying with when to take my finishing pictures. Weighing in is easy as I can just do it every morning to see where I am, but I want the pics to be as late in the week as possible for leaness but as close to gym sessions for the pump!

I know! Well it was egg whites for breakfast and all I've got for my work meals is tuna and yogurt x 2 so I just have to control myself when I get home tonight!

Back + Bi's WEEK 5 WG Chins 3 x ? BW for all (10, 10, 8) - sets was a little rushed so less reps! V bar LatPD 3 x 10 57.5kg for all Cable row 3 x 10 50kg for all Machine row 2 x 10 42.5kg for both + drop set DB curls 3 x 10 14kg for all BB curls 2 x 10 35kg for both Bi's were a waste of time but they were tired. I'm just trying to make sure everything gets a good hammering towards the end of the week incase I don't get to the gym on Sunday. So chest + tri's tomorrow, then a bit more shoulders, back + bi's on Friday. But hopefully that last Sunday session WILL happen! Knowing my luck we'll have forgot some last minute thing and need to go shopping!

Just over 45 mins (I wanted to get to 500 cals!) this morning on the mini stepper. VERY nearly didn't get up but it'd be such a shame to miss the last few cardio sessions. Egg whites again for breakfast as I felt I over did last nights evening meal. Tuna and chicken to eat today. I've got to nip out mid morning to go and meet one of our sales guys about an hours drive away to give them a new laptop. So I plan to meet them then get a coffee and eat my first meal in the car somewhere, then drive back to the gym. Then back into work and eat my 2nd meal as normal. Should make the day go a bit quicker. I'll also nip on the sunbed today. I'll still slightly red from the weekends sun but I'm sure I'm safe to go on now. Then I might squeeze on more in if I get to the gym on Sunday. I reckon I'll take my pics tonight. It's just not worth the risk of over doing it a bit at the meal on Friday night and missing my best condition. There's quite a few leftovers from last nights meal to eat tonight but I must have some self control and not eat too much so I'm not bloated, then I can take the pics before bed. I can always take some more if I look better on Saturday/Sunday. And I'll start weighing in every morning from tomorrow.

I stopped at a services on my little trip for a coffee and the smell of food and cakes behind the coffee counter nearly killed me! My tuna just didn't cut it after that! Chest + Tri's WEEK 5 Decline BB 3 x 10 90kg, 85kg, 80kg Inc DB 3 x 10 30kg, 30kg (8), 26kg Dips 3 x 8 BW for all Cable X overs 3 x 12 25kg for all Pushdowns 3 x 12 55kg, 60kg (10), 55kg + drop sets So thats my last "real" gym session before the holiday. Everything has been trained. You could argue the monday leg session was from last week and I should train legs again this week but there's no need and I'll concentrate on them when I'm back. Tomorrow and Sunday (if I get there) will just be a bit of everything and I won't even take my notebook into the gym. Tomorrow will be a bit of back, shoulders and bi's.......... if I get there Sunday it will be more chest, tri's and whatever. I'll definitely take some pics tonight as my chest went up like a balloon today and really stood out against my slimmer mid section. My midsection may improve over the next 2 or 3 days if I keep cals down, but there's no way my top half will look as pumped as this so tonight is the night. I can always take another ab pic if they improve. It also means I can hopefully stick the pics on here tomorrow if I get time. I just hope a press up session will give me the same chest pump on holiday!!!
