Well its now about 3 weeks post comp. Up around 5kg which isnt too bad but Im full focused and back on track this week. Felt super bloated after the first week off the diet. I did eat alot but I think my body goes mad with carbs and I mean really mad. Seratonin is seriously addictive!! Feeling much better now. Cardio hasn't been easy this week. Been trying to date which isnt easy on a diet but managing to work round things. Along with lots of working and early mornings I've been tired but next week will be head down and focus to the brits. If I can in 11 weeks get my weight down on show day to about 76kg I can give myself every chance of getting my top 3 finish. If this dream is to happen I have to be on the money as other competitors are pretty good!! So ripped and nothing less!! Trainings going well. Started volume straight after the show with the traditional split of Chest/Bi's, Shoulder/Tri's, Quads/Calfs, Hams/Calfs and Back. Introduced more squating and deadlifting. Picked up 180kg for 4 reps yesterday which felt good. Going to go for a couple reps of 200kg next week and then keep it higher reps up until the show.

Good luck with the prep for next show mate, Interested to see what your routine looks like also, after a savage chest session my tris are always too shagged to give 100% so maybe go shoulder/tri's like yersel, achwell all the best bud

Over the past couple of weeks training has been going really well. Prep officailly started again on Monday which is good as I'm not over the moon with current condition but only need to get down to 77ish from 82-81 in 7 weeks. Cardio's up slightly with me doing 50minutes in the morning 6-days and 20mins post workout. Im varying the morning cardio as I'm quite fit so need to keep the heart rate a little higher so a very light jog every 10mins and post workout cardio is a mix of skipping etc. Diets pretty much the same as previous Scottish so sticking to that. Having one cheat meal a week and yesterday had some stuffed crust pizza with my bro. Tasted so good. Previously I would have gone a little nuts and nearly eaten out the whole restaurant on my cheat meal however keeping things a little reserved and just treating my self. Really looking forward to the british just hoping I can really bring it and make a great impact.

Haven't updated for a while. I've been keeping my head down and working hard to come in the best shape I can for the Brits. This for sure has been the hardest physiologically I've encountered during s contest diet. Physically it's been the same as times before but somehow things just don't want to settle down. Diets been on and I've never once veard from the plan I just feel I haven't had the focus to quite diet hard enough. Come september 18th we shall see. Trainings been going well. Again using it as a positive things an pushing each rep and set to get the best out of every workout. Training changed slightly last week with a move towards super setting and shorter rest periods. Trying to get as lean as I possibly can. I've been getting into drinking coffee. Used to hate the stuff but love it now. Just having maybe one or two. Enjoying one as we speak before smashing legs. 3 weeks to my first open devision face off. It's going to be epic and can't wait to show what I'm made of.

Day off training but still fitting in cardio this morning at 60mins slow and steady. Then I'll do another 20-30minutes later on. Legs are feeling a touch tender today after yesterdays session. Had a great Swedish massage from a friend which was really nice. Hoping to have one every week up until the show. Went to see Conan the Barbarian as well at the cinema. Always hilarious to my friends when I pull out my chicken, nuts and fruit in the middle of the film whilst they munch on there popcorn and icecream!!

Training this afternoon with Shoulders and Back. Lots of supersetting with short rest periods. Workouts are a little shorter but making sure the pace is high. Finished off with 20minutes on the crosstrainer. Keeping the heart rate at around 110 and making sure Im on a little sweat. Sometimes feel pretty fatigued doing this but gotta push to the end. No cardio this morning but Ive been taking tuesdays off for the past few months on the cardio front. Helps keep the mind focused and back on it tomorrow morning. Day off training but will fit in morning and some afternoon cardio. Condition is looking better but still not entirely happy as I know if Im to really compete at a top level i need to be at my al time best. I carry a good amount of muscle that can compete with the best of them but I think my condition is still to have its best day. Still pushing forward and to achieve the goal of walking off stage with a trophy!!

Toughest day of the diet yesterday by a long way!! It was pretty hellish with no energy what so ever and really was keen on training clients but I battled through and kept a smile on my face. Today was pretty similar really. Just drained and really trying to keep upbeat but super tough!! Always the usual when only 2.5 weeks out from a show. Condition is good but not britian winning good. Really still pushing to achieve my goal of stepping off stage with a trophy for all this hard work!! Looking forward to some homemade cheese burgers this Saturday.

Yesterday was supposed to train legs in the evening but really not on form at all. After last client felt super dizzy, even struggling to walk up and down stairs. So decided to wait until today however again still not feeling great at all and thought a big leg session would do more harm than good opted for a shoulders and back session. Not too bad but got everything done. Motivation and energy pretty low. kind of to be expected but tomorrow will be a new day and Im ready to kill it again. Couple really nice cheat foods with some homemade cheese burgers which were spectacular and a good serving of carmel slices. Felt abit sick after it but only having a tuna salad tonight and settle down to Limitless the movie. Saw it in the cinema but got it again as its an epic film!! Bring on tomorrow and a new day!!

Tough day. Really had to dig deep to get my leg day in. Its probably going to be my last one until the Brits but I shall talk things through with the 'boss' on Friday. Pretty shattered all day which is a good sign of being lean. Took a good look at myself in the mirror after a few weeks away from that specific gym with good lighting. Im looking good but again could be better. I think if I had maybe 4 more weeks I would be really on the money but I have to work hard with what I have now and show up with the best I can. Plan for carb deplete load and all that jazz as of Friday so we shall see what James has planned for me.

And so the Sodium deplete begins and the final week of prep starts. Its been a long road this year and now on the home stretch. Taking the best part of next week off with no PT's and only doing a few small shifts at work. No training today which is nice but two bouts of 60mins cardio tomorrow.

Gotta two cardio sessions in today. 60minutes in the morning then another 60 in the afternoon. Definately feeling alittle more drained today. Just been chilling out and doing a little napping. Went for a wander round town but didnt last too long as felt pretty tired. Depletion workouts start tomorrow with back and biceps. Always interesting trying to rep out 30 when your just totally exhausted. Sodium load has continued as well with salt and a little ketchup on all meals. Has some nice oven baked salmon fillets today which went down really nicely. Already dreaming of the carb up but keeping the mind strong!!

Wel cardio finished Thursday. Carb load well into the swing and first 4 layers of tan on. Competition time is definately on. Had a good look at myself this morning. I happy but looking forward to seeing what I look like under the hot lights in the SECC in less than 48hrs. Its been a tuff jouney this year for me with various bits and pieces happing during prep but head held high on stage and presenting the best package I can. Will do a full report once I get some time after the comp and explain my thoughts on the year. Right now just sitting back enjoying some olympia coverage and letting the tan get darker and darker.

Well show day has arrived. Currently chilling out in my hotel room. Need to get check In again at the SECC at about 1100. Weighed in and had my polygraph done last night. Weight was 81.3kg which I was too happy about as it could potentially put me in the heavies. So asked if I could come back after a few hours and alittle time spent in the bathroom. Went back at about 2130 to check and it was 80.3kg but still with some dehydration to go but thought I would just stick. So my group will be the Heavies after all. This will be a thick line up and really tuff to compete in but Im going in fighting and trying to come out the other end with a trophy in hand. Wish me luck.

And so its been a week post comp. I've both enjoyed and disliked having the week off. Enjoying foods that I couldnt have for the best part of the year but the problems that come along with them. Bloating, gas and discomfort make you realise the 'normal' mans diet really isnt good for you at all!! Ive had the week off so now I will be back on to a plan tomorrow. Im looking to follow a ruff Paleo plan. Lower carb moderate protein and carb. Hoping to keep bodyfat low and increase muscle along with strength. I'll continue to post and update as much as possible. Find a comp review with pics on my website: www.gordongreenhorn.com

Wow back to training today!! Just sitting having a coffee before hitting my first session in about 2 weeks. I'm starting with an Upper/lower split for the next 4 weeks then move onto a voume programe for another 4 weeks. That should take me up to about the start of december and then we shall see from there. Diet is going to work roughly around a paleo approach. Breakfast with be meat, nuts, apple/mixed dried fruit and a greens drink. Then main veg sources will be greens. Fish for lunch and using chicken as a snack. Avoiding most diary and all gluten where possible. After last weeks horrible stomach pains and bloating I think I maybe gluten intolerant but haven't had a check from the doctor yet so will get that organised. Cant wait for this gym session fired up already!!

Just back from London yesterday on a business trip. What a place, love it!! The weather couldnt of been better for a trip down along with some shopping. Managed to fit in a training session in on the Friday and then shopped most of the afternoon on Saturday. Made a big mistake with my flight and ended up at the wrong airport. Dont ask. However a pretty hefty cost but needed to get home. Will READ my goddam ticket properly next time!!

Just heading home now from the UKBFF British Finals. What a weekend it was. I'm a massive bodybuilding fan and competitor so to be presence of some awesome pro's and spectators really made it a great one. It was my first experiance of a UKBFF Britian and I'm sure I will follow it up with my thoughts and a full report once I get settled back in Aberdeen. I met some of Britians top Pro's that I see in the magazines and watch on various websites like Flexonline and Muscular Development. Hopefully everyone enjoyed my play by play and I managed to give everyone a good idea of what was happening and how people looked. A big thank you goes out to James, Hazel and Barry (photgrapher) who made the weekend a hoot. Now back to training and then off to Sweden on Thursday and then move to London. Rollarcoaster of a month.
