My Story so far and your advise . . .

Good afternoon everyone!!!! I hope everyone is having a good day so far and as I've now been addicted to this website for the past 48 hours (I'm an avid fitness enthusiast!!) I thought I would post on the beginners board!!!! I've been training non-stop (week off at Christmas) for the last 6 months and as I have gone through the different stages of gym sessions my knowledge of everything health and fitness related has BALLOONED! However, I was hoping that I could get some basic advise on my first cut in the next few months. My gym routine itself has been based around bettering all of my PB's (which I have) and for each exercise I perform I have set an ideal standard which I want to be achieving by a certain time (as odd as it sounds it really motivates me). Besides from the obvious 'I want to be massive and be really lean for the summer' trip I have got to the stage where I am content (not happy - but content) with my body. I've not been specifically bulking over the last 6 months (as I play a lot of football bulking can only go so far for me) but I have put on some good lean mass and made gains in definition (particularly my legs, arms and abs). I'm 6'2, weight 13.4 stone (84kg) and have a fairly athletic (BF% at 13.7%) build thanks to the gym and my relatively strict diet. I'd like to look as good as I can for the summer and that means getting my BF% down by about 5%. Any advise on good healthy cutting and what (if any) supplements I should be looking to invest in? (If I've missed any vital information then let me know, all comments welcome). And also well done on reading this beast of a post which was supposed to be a lot briefer!!!

Hi mate,if you have no luck with replies try the supplement forum at the top and the diet one.A lot of the q and a's on here are training related.5% bodyfat is a tough ask though, not that I'm an expert.

The most important step to 5% is learning a reasonable amount about training and nutrition, understanding how your body reacts to things and/or getting good advice. Have a read of the articles, that is a good first step.

Cheers for the replies lads. The BF% is by 5% not aiming to get as low as 5% itself. So aiming for the 8-10% mark. I will stick these on the Supps and Dieting forum though. See what response I get.

watch the video "i want to be that guy" just posted recently and you will see how hard getting to 5% is... i was shocked to say the least. Worth it but after watching that id never bother, 10% will probs just be manageable. good luck
