My first glute jab
08 February 2012 07:57
( permalink)
Did my first jab yesterday, 1ml of test e. Went well but I have a few questions. Whilst drawing I found it, not difficult but a bit faffy trying to get all the air out and get 1ml of oil. In the end I had to draw 1.5ml then push the rest back in until I get 1ml of oil in the syringe. Is this normal? When injecting I found it very difficult to Pull before pushing. Again normal? I struggled to get to the injection site with my left hand (right glute). Is this a sign I'm in the wrong place or again is this normal? Got a nice "DOMS" feeling in my right glute at the mo. if its still there on Friday is it best to swap to the other side? Now I don't know why but I always get light headed around needles. I'm not afraid of them I just feel feint when the needles in. Is it ok to inject sitting? Thanks guys

For ease of use, seeing what your doing fella you really need to be pinning quads, There's no need to draw 1.5ml from the vial, just shoot 1ml,doing quads would sort this out. If I do glutes I get my misses to do it.

I second quads, you can relax and take your time. I sit down usually, and have 2 hands to control the barrel/needle.
The last three or four reps is what makes the muscle grow. This area of pain divides the champion from someone else who is not a champion.

Not sure I explained the drawing aspect very well. Pull 0.5ml air into syringe. Affix green needle Insert into vial Push air in Now here's the bit. When I pull the oil into the syringe I pull the syringe back to 1ml and it only fills upto about 0.7ml. If I pull back to about 1.5ml then push the bit over back into the vial I can get exactly 1ml of oil in the syringe. I can't imagine it makes that much difference tbh. Just though I'd ask. If go quad won't I need a different size pin. Using 1 1/4inch on glute ATM.

You are doing the drawing part correctly mate although personally I don't inject air into the vial as it increases the risk of contamination, I prefer to warm it first and then do as you did, by drawing excess and injecting back down to the correct amount into the vial. Bigfella.
