Id suggest you all have 50g whey spare if your making these, i used 2/3rd of ingredients but had to use alot more whey than expected.
I'd also grease the tray very well, mine stuck like a omlette in a nonstick pan.
Can be cut with a "PIZZA CUTTER" into bars (Mine looked like dog chews )

DONT USE STRAWBERRY FLAVOURED H&B WHEY - TASTED LIKE CRAP.

Will try again once i get unflavoured

Thanks for the heads up there Rich but can you confirm you have actually eaten crap to make it a fair comparison, also we could do with knowing if it was your own or someone elses or pet etc.
        Cheers

My own, i was cutting and assumed eating it would be negative calories yet still fairly filling due to having stoped hunger early in the day.
Turns out it added around 200kcals due to mint chewing gum, however using tooth paste and some mouthwash could help prevent the calories.

Dont add this to your mixture though since it wont set well.

                        Alright chaps,

Made these last night - great! Never baked a thing in my life so although dead easy was a nice bit of practice for me. As I'm a bit of a gannet I was very tempted to eat the whole lot last thing and they were on my mind sitting in fridge all night.

Just 1 thing though - how long do you have to leave them to set? Mine turned out more like a protein "cake" after a night in the fridge. They bend and break quite easy. Only slight differences to original recipe was that I used pre-ground almonds (very fine), cholocate whey as I'm waiting a bag of unflavoured, and done the heating up in oven not microwave... How do I make them set harder? I can cut through them with a butter knife at the mo....

                        Cheers for any help...

                        DJ

I heard puting 200g protein powder in makes em set harder.

Im on the bandwagon tonight with em, first time for me!!

                                Well i was a virgin!!

Got the ingredients at Tesco last night, all was going well until i put it all together for a mixing!! JESUS CHRIST it turns into the most sticky paste i have ever seen in the kitchen, i broke 1 spatula and deformed my mixing bowl, and spreading it was comical enough everytime i tried to smooth it out the mix stuck to the spoon and came out of the tub again! Washing up as a git also, i had to scrape the contents off everything as the good old fairy wouldn't touch it! LOL

Result : 515g of red goo gone hard in the fridge over night, still haven't tried em yet i was saving the taster for 10:30 today!

By the way using 200g whey does make them set well, the bars are hard and sturdy, and using the other ingredient amounts 100g is as follows:

                                Protein 40.7
                                Carbs 3
                                Fats 14

So perfect meal for me, lets just hope im blow away by the taste and that they don't glue my intestines shut!

Yeah were fine i cut em into 5 bars, and just took a bit of leverage to get them out and they only bent slightly. So sorta Fudge Brownie consitancy.

Has anyone made these using gelatin you buy in strips? If so how much did you use? Ive only got chocolate flavoured whey & mixing that with flavoured jelly would be!
