To be honest though, i recon my diet if far from what most people would want if they are trying to make gains.

Morning: Large bowl of Fruit 'n Fibre cereal with skimmed milk.
Lunchtime: Tuna and coleslaw brown bread sandwich and a cereal bar.
Late afternoon: Tuna and coleslaw brownbread sandwich.
Evening (after workout): Protein shake.
Late evening: 4 egg whites+2 whole eggs scrambled on 1 slice of brown bread.

Anytime during the day i may snack on a handfull of nuts.

My diet is not strict at the moment and it can vary from day to day, also i don't normaly follow the above diet at the weekends.

Im pretty much keeping everything at an enjoyable level at the moment, it makes it easier to stick with it then. Once i get into the new year then i will become more strict with it all.

Seems to be working though mate!

My diet at the moment is far from strict but once christmas is out the way I do plan to do a proper 8-12 wk cut. Will see what happens!!

I've decided that im not going to train over the Christmas period, manily due to extra shifts at work, more late nights and more drink!!

I know that even if i did some training it's better than doing none, but i struggle to get myself motivated for it at all if im not giving it my all. So im just going to relax a bit untill the new year.

I've been pleased with my progress so far and am already looking forward to getting stuck into it in the new year.

Thought i'd post up a couple of pictures that i've taken today.

Want to have a record so i can measure my improvements against them in the new year.

Im not particularly happy with them, but i did only start training seriously again about 6 weeks ago and have done nothing the last 2 weeks. It gives me plenty of room for improvement at least.

Cheers!

Although i did'nt really class them as looking good!? My diet at the moment consists of beer and junk food combined with no training!

Once the new year is over with i will be back into training properly. Will mainly be concentrating on strength, not bothered if i gain any size or not at the moment. Then closer to summer i shall drop bodyfat.

I just wanted the pictures for a record of what i look like now before i start training properly again.

Where are you doing your martial arts, mate?
A few lads have mentioned a mixed martial arts club in Werrington on a Sunday - aikido and ju jitsu combined apparently. Sounds interesting.

Don't do them anymore. Did various ones over the course of around 7-8 years.

It all slowed down a bit when i got involved with a girl..... usual story!

I did Ju Jutsu for the longest period, about 4-5 years, not sure who does that over at Werrington though, might know them i see them!?

You thinking about it yourself then?

Yes mate - weekends are the only time I can get away from the gym so thinking about lunchtime ju jitsu or aikido really. The Werrington one sounds ideal.

Used to box with Nige Fairbairn in the gym on weekdays during lunch-hour but he got real busy and real popular, so something had to give, not that I minded too much - he used to batter me black and blue, lol.

Depends on what you want to get from it, but aikido in MMA is a bit unusal. It's not an easy art to put into practical use in my opinion. Not putting it down at all though, i did it for around 18 months but it was'nt for me.

Still, it's worth a look if they're mixing it up a bit, can't really make fair comment without trying them.

What are you aims from it then?

Thanks for the comment Graham.

My diet has changed lots of times over the last 15 years so difficult to pinpoint anything.

Post number 45 on page 3 has some details of what i have been eating recently, excluding the Christmas period that is!

When i was losing fat earlier this year my diet for that was fairly drastic and probably not advisable to everyone.

Breakfast - Large bowl of Fruit 'n Fibre with skimmed milk
Mid morning - Approx 70g chicken breast
Lunch - 140-200g chicken breast and a cereal bar
Mid-late afternoon - Approx 70g chicken breast
Evening (after workout) - Protein shake

The only other supplements i used was CEE for around 3-4 weeks and ECA for around 4-5 weeks.

I followed this diet 5-6 days a week and would eat what i wanted on Sundays.

I was doing 1 hour cardio on my stationary cycle 4-5 mornings a week before breakfast and weight training 4 evenings a week.

I would occasionaly do an extra 1 or 2 cardio sessions some weeks depending how i felt.

This was the result, nothing amazing but i was happy with it

i can train 3 times a week so if you could do it in that format would be great.

Thanks for your comment and compliment!

I don't really use email! But if you go to the start of my journal it gives a pretty clear layout of each workout as the posts progress.

Mine is over 5 days. If you want 3 days you could try either:

Mon - Legs
Tue - Rest
Wed - Chest/Triceps
Thur - Rest
Fri - Back/Biceps

Or maybe...

Mon - Chest/Back
Tues - Rest
Wed - Biceps/Triceps
Thur - Rest
Fri - Legs

These are just basic outlines to give you a rough idea.

But please bear in mind that simply following someones routine does'nt mean your gains will follow likewise.

Well, today was going to be the start of my weight training after the Christmas/New Year break, but due to me injuring my thumb at a New Years party i can't comfortably hold a barbell or dumbell at the moment.

Bit pissed off as it was caused by a stupid accident.

I had accidently ripped my shirt during some games at the party and my mates thought it would be funny to try and rip it right off, so a small amount of play fighting followed. Due to the four of them having a combined bodyweight of over 70 stone it's not much of a surprise that an accident was going to happen and i ended up catching my thumb somehow.

Im expecting (hoping) it will be fine by next Monday.

This week im going to start my jogging again at least, as my current fitness level is crap.

From what i remember it was'nt too bad, other than the normal that is!

Christmas Eve and Boxing Day were the worst.

Always amazes me the amount of d!cks that still want to risk getting locked up over Christmas, and sure enough on Boxing Day there were 3 members of the Burberry 'n Argos jewellery gang that managed it.
