Cheers for the comment Rack, the picture was just a spur of the moment thing. Yeah, the mirror is the main judge for me.

Cheers for the comment Occy! I am quite critical of myself and looked at the picture thinking "yeah, it's not too bad" then sometimes think "hmmn, it's nothing special really" Ref workouts, i do like to keep everything basic and simple. I often get a little frustrated when i read beginners posting all these weird and wonderfull workouts, talking about machines for this or that and what supplements do they need... When all they need is to just stick with the basics. Although it's just a learning curve i suppose and most of us have probably been there ourselves at some point.

Reg* - Cheers for the comment. Tommy - I was pleased with tonights deadlifts, although they were hard and my grip was going on the last couple of sets. I recon within around 3 weeks i should see all working sets at 200kg or more. ...and a five plate deadlift should'nt be too far behind either.

Snake124 - Cheers for the comment! My goal for flat bench is to get 3 plates a side, which is 140kg. Would'nt say it's a short or long term goal, just something i aim for over time. As long as i keep making progress of any kind im happy. Same as me matey! Race you there :P Pictures looking good mate, you look pretty damn hench!

Hmmn... you may well beat me in that race, as i've been going backwards a bit with bench the last couple of weeks! ...although i think i sussed the problem so hopefully it'll be back on track next week. Cheers for the compliment... i think!? What does 'hench' translate to? This is another new slang word i don't know!

Rack, Mick & Apollo - Cheers lads! Deadweight - Yeah, i'm pretty happy with my deadlifts at the moment... 200kg on all work sets is not too far away now! Thumb is ok ish. I still use a thumbless grip on my barbell pressing movements. The only exercise that it really causes me any bother is skullcrushers and it's only getting the bar off the ground and into position that is awkward. This cr@ppy cold weather don't help it!!... Roll on the sunshine!

This afternoon i worked my triceps. Close Grip Bench Press 15 reps with 60kg (warm up) 8 reps with 95kg 7 reps with 95kg 6 reps with 97.5kg 3 reps with 97.5kg 15 reps with 60kg I manged an extra rep on a couple of the sets compared with last weeks, so i was pleased with that. Decided to cut the workout short due to a sharp pain in my left arm, felt like a nerve around the crease of my arm, as if i've strained it too much. I hurt it a bit on Saturday night but did'nt think it would be a problem. If it had'nt been for that i would've managed more than 3 reps on the second to last set. Nevermind, a bit of rest and it should be fine. I won't overdo biceps tomorrow then it's legs on Friday.

This evening i worked my biceps. Barbell Curls (EZ bar) 30 reps with just the bar (warm up) 9 reps with 50.5kg 6 reps with 53kg 6 reps with 53kg 4 reps with 55.5kg Tonight was not a very good workout due to me well and truly fcuking up my thumb again last night!!! It was quite sore to grip the barbell and there was no way i was going to use the dumbells as that was a lot worse. Just hope it subsides enough to not hinder me too much next week.

Cheers Rack and Mick, on the whole the weights were ok, i just would of liked to have maybe got an extra rep on some of the sets. It's anoying when you think you probably could have but something else holds you back a bit. Trying to grip the bar real tight ain't happening with my right hand and it just hinders when trying to lift heavy. Tommy - Yeah, it's still sore and i managed to bash it about a bit last night even more!! Got to laugh i suppose, it's better than moaning about it too much.

I started about a week ago (in between cycles) have 3 - 5 grms cee with 3 grms taurine... about 45mins before workout... Certainly helps with my strength and getting a few more reps out... May be worth a go when you're thumb is better IMO

Mick, Yeah i started CEE on Monday (see page 12, post #227 for details). I felt a benefit when i used some last year, but i was taking more than the recommended amount, i think i was having around 7 grams a day ish. I know people say only so much can be stored so taking more is probably a waste. This time i'm sticking with the recommended amount on the pack to start with and will see how it goes.

This evening i worked my legs. Squats 10 reps with 60kg (warm up) 8 reps with 105kg 7 reps with 105kg 4 reps with 110kg 2 reps with 115kg 2 reps with 115kg Pleased with tonights workout. Volume was up from last week. My target is 10 reps with the 105k. The weights i'm lifting for squats are still quite poor though, especially when compared with my other lifts. Thats the lesson to be learnt from not training legs!!! Oh well, steady gains are slowly coming each week, thats the main thing.

This evening i worked my chest. Flat Bench Press 25 press ups (warm up) 15 reps with 60kg (warm up) 7 reps with 105kg 6 reps with 105kg 3 reps with 110kg 1 rep with 115kg Flat Dumbell Bench Press 10 reps with 37.5kg 8 reps with 37.5kg 6 reps with 44kg 4 reps with 44kg 3 reps with 44kg 4 reps with 37.5kg Well, workout started sh!t when i only got 7 reps with the 105kg again!! The weight felt easy to start with but my breathing fcuked it a bit and i could'nt get the 8th rep. Even though i know my fitness is that sh!t i still hav'nt got my ar$e in gear with regular cardio!!! ...it starts tomorrow! Anyway, the poor start was well and truly saved with a much improved volume on dumbell benching (compared with last week). ...so overall, not too bad a workout.
